Squad Goals At Its Finest!!
Revisado: 02-17-24
I have nothing bad to say. This book was the best of the Crescent City series where everything just comes together nicely and you’re left with a satisfying ending!
Along the way, you have multiple POV’s that just seamlessly mesh together bringing all the storylines (except maybe one) to lovely conclusions. Which just shows what an exceptional storyteller Maas really is to juggle all of these views where I was never confused or bored.
There are so many great scenes here that encompass all the feels!! This is my least favorite Maas series but this book made reading the previous two books all worth it! In true Maas fashion, she rewards your loyalty with an amazing payoff!
With the ending of this book, I am even more excited now for the next book in the ACOTAR series!
And, of course, Elizabeth Evans gives a phenomenal audiobook performance!
If you’ve been waiting to start this series now, with this masterpiece, would be the time to start. Don’t miss out on these amazing characters and their incredible story!

Riveting Conclusion to the Song & Star Duology!
Revisado: 01-21-24
I have no complaints. This story of Asian Mythology was rendered so lovingly with well-paced action and gasp-worthy moments along with tender romance.
The incredible performance given by Annie Q brought these books to vivid life and I enjoyed her narration immensely!
If you love stories based in Asian Mythology, long journeys, Star-crossed lovers, gods & demons, Found Family, and Squad Goals, then this duology is for you!

Two weeks have passed since Iris Winnow returned home bruised and heartbroken from the front, but the war is far from over. Roman is missing, and the city of Oath continues to dwell in a state of disbelief and ignorance. When Iris and Attie are given another chance to report on Dacre’s movements, they both take the opportunity and head westward once more despite the danger, knowing it’s only a matter of time before the conflict reaches a city that’s unprepared and fracturing beneath the chancellor’s reign.

An Excellent Sequel in the Letters of Enchantment Duology!
Revisado: 12-31-23
What can I say? This beautiful sequel met all my expectations! A touching story, well told, with elements of despair, loneliness, reunion, triumph, and a peaceful resolution.
Complete with an incredible lineup of amazing characters in a war-torn WW1-inspired world, this story with its multi-POV, gorgeous quotes, heart-stopping moments, exquisite romantic moments, and satisfying ending will, without a doubt, be one of my all-time favorites and, I feel, the best story that Rebecca has graced us with yet!
The audiobook is also excellent with two extremely talented narrators and I highly recommend it as well.
However you consume this duology, don’t miss this exceptional story!

Very Enjoyable RomCom!
Revisado: 11-19-23
This is my second Ali Hazelwood book and I really enjoyed it! An excellent YA Debut! A beautiful He Falls First book set in the world of chess with a HEA ending.
This is an “invisible string” story that helps save our protagonist, Mallory Greenleaf, from a life of repressed anger and needless codependence and sees her flourish into the chess master she was born to be.
With sassy sisters, a ride-or-die childhood friend, the sweetest cinnamon roll “rival”, and a great cast of characters, this lovely foray into the world of chess was very enlightening and very entertaining!
Karissa Vacker gives an excellent performance!

Another Great Installment in the House of Dragons Series!!
Revisado: 11-07-23
I have to be honest. I was not looking forward to this sequel. I don’t like it when my OTP’s are apart. I don’t like it when my FMC is weakened and stranded by herself in a new and strange world.
BUT…
I should have known better. I should have known that in K. A. Linde’s hands that this story would flow like magical water, traversing all the hardships and obstacles, until all that was left was a stronger Kerrigan reunited with her mate, her dragon, and her allies! And all of them ready to move on to the final book in this amazing series! Which means another year long wait for House of Embers.
BUT…
I have found that all of these books have been worth the wait so I’ll be here patiently waiting for what is sure to be an amazing ending!
Also, Amy McFadden is my favorite narrator and she gives another stellar performance in House of Gods!
So, if you’re looking for a YA/NA series with all the excitement and swoon of Fourth Wing, give this series and it’s finished predecessor series, The Ascension Series, a try!

Another Great Addition to the Bridge Kingdom Series!
Revisado: 06-08-23
Although this got a little long in places, I really enjoyed Zarrah & Keris’ story! All ends well and there are some set-up mentions for the next duology which is the story of Anna as she goes to Harrenhall to complete her arranged marriage to it’s monarch. THAT’S the story I’ve been waiting for and I’m looking forward to listening to it when it arrives!
The narrators of the four books in this series have been phenomenal and I’m hoping the next two will be just as wonderful!
Highly recommend this series for lovers of political intrigue, enemies-to-lovers, with some really nasty villains, and all the shenanigans it takes to overthrow them!

Excellent Epistolary Romantic Fantasy!!
Revisado: 04-09-23
Ok…I needed a couple of days between finishing this book and writing this review because of FEELINGS!
This is a really hard review to write because I try to make my reviews spoiler free. I will say that I tend to not read books until the sequel is out or quickly approaching. I REALLY wish that I had followed this rule for Divine Rivals because the year long wait for the sequel, Ruthless Vows, is going to be extremely difficult. I have questions and I have theories and I need answers. Now!
It’s that kind of book! It should come with a warning. Consider yourself warned.
That being said, I absolutely loved this book. It is extremely well written and has many of my favorite tropes: Positive sibling relationships, rivals-to-lovers, He Falls First, Forced Proximity (a really unique use of this one - loved it!), Found Family, with magical elements set within a WWI-setting where mythological gods are a thing.
We’ll start with the mythological gods. We have a Hades/Persephone type relationship where our Persephone, Enya, escapes our Hades, Dacre, by putting him and the whole of the Underworld into a deep sleep for many years. Well, Dacre wakes up after the cursed amount of time and he is pissed! Like raze the town where he is buried to the ground in his vengeance and as a way to get Enya’s attention. Thus begins a war and Enya enlists her fighters by “calling” to them with her magic harp.
Our story begins when our FMC, Iris E. Winnow, is seeing her brother, Forest, off at the train station as he makes his way to the front.
Jump to five months later and Iris, now working at a local newspaper and in a competition for a coveted position with our MMC, Roman C. Kitt, has not heard from her brother and is doing all she can to keep her and her alcoholic mother financially stable.
At night, suffering from stress and loneliness, she types letters to Forest and “sends” them via a wardrobe. Magical elements, remember?
However, these letters are not making their way to Forest but to her nemesis, Roman, who decides after many letters to anonymously write her back.
Thus begins a beautiful relationship between these two which progresses throughout the novel.
And I’ll leave it there but please know this novel has All The Feels and it’s quite the journey story and I cannot wait for the sequel which should be all you need to know. I cannot recommend it highly enough but the hangover is real!
Rebecca Ross is an auto-buy author for me and her writing just keeps improving with each novel and I’ll be anxious to see how Ruthless Vows concludes this most excellent of stories!
For the audiophiles, Rebecca Norfolk and Alex Wingfield (it’s dual POV although there’s a few scenes that I would love to have from Roman’s POV [thank you to author Isabel Ibañez without whom we wouldn’t have any Roman POV’s]) both give excellent performances and I highly recommend the audiobook, as well.
Whether you decide to wait for the sequel or read this epistolary novel now, don’t miss this story!
