Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Historia
Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog. Unfortunately, Fischer can’t catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!

Like it but…
Revisado: 09-04-24
Currently halfway through and I find the relationship excruciating.
I like the world and would like more depth so I’ll keep listening but I could do with 90% less of the relationship and 90% more of the world.
Also I think every author has a word/phrase that’s overused. For this author it’s the repetition of “cocking” of heads. And every time I feel it coming which makes it stand out even more.
Narrator is spot on as always and likely why i will power through finishing.

Historia
This near-future trilogy is the first chance for English-speaking listeners to experience this multiple-award-winning phenomenon from Cixin Liu, China's most beloved science fiction author. In The Dark Forest, Earth is reeling from the revelation of a coming alien invasion - in just four centuries' time. The aliens' human collaborators may have been defeated, but the presence of the sophons, the subatomic particles that allow Trisolaris instant access to all human information, means that Earth's defense plans are totally exposed to the enemy.

Unfortunately the Narrator is killing it for me
Revisado: 07-05-24
I’m struggling hard to get through this book. I’ve listened to the first 3 chapters twice in a row and I keep zoning out trying to figure out what he’s doing as a narrator to make this so hard for me to listen to and focus on. It really does feel like text to speech.

Good but I could do without one bit.
Revisado: 10-22-23
Spoiler warning.
I like the story but the relationship seems forced. I would have preferred it stayed platonic.
Just doesn’t feel like it fits with the characters for me.
People can be friends and challenge each other and share deep love for each other without it having to be romantic love.

In Desdemona and the Deep, the spoiled daughter of a rich mining family must retrieve the tithe of men her father promised to the world below. On the surface, her world is rife with industrial pollution that ruins the health of poor factory workers while the idle rich indulge themselves in unheard-of luxury. Below are goblins, mysterious kingdoms, and an entirely different hierarchy.

Historia
Around the world, there are tales of creatures that live in mist or shadow, hidden from humans by only the slightest veil. In Where the Veil Is Thin, these creatures step into the light. Some are small and harmless. Some are bizarre mirrors of this world. Some have hidden motives, while others seek justice against humans who have wronged them.

didn’t mind the politics, because (let’s be honest) it would definitely come up in a post-apocalyptic world when folks are trying to re-establish themselves. And it would be divisive and highly opinionated.
I look forward the next installment!

Historia
To be born into a family of royal assassins pretty much guarantees that your life is going to be rather unusual. Especially if, like Miscellaneous 'Lanie' Stones, you also have a vicious allergy to all forms of violence and bloodshed, and an uncanny affinity for bringing the dead back to life. To make matters worse, family debt looms—a debt that will have to be paid sooner rather than later if Lanie and her sister are to retain ownership of the ancestral seat, Stones Manor.

So far it’s alright
Revisado: 06-24-22
Entertaining enough for me to listen all the way.
NARRATOR:
Not great for me. He dragged his voice for the main character in a way that I almost thought I couldn’t listen to the whole book. But then I remembered I could up the speed and it was still just okay but didn’t make me want to turn it off like it did at normal speed.
The other character voices were much better.
Full disclosure : I originally found Nathan Hystad by looking for Ray Porter narration and I might have been a bit disappointed that he wasn’t the narrator on this series.
STORY:
So far it’s decent.
Some silly things :
- teenage super-hacker.
- Adult characters with their melodramatic teenage love

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Ray Porter narration solid as always.
Really enjoyed this entry into the Bobiverse. I had not realized there would be more so this was double great. This book feels like a much bigger expansion and opening up of where the series can go. Makes me pretty excited to see what happens next.
