Historia
Hart Tanner is a con man; a grifter who enjoys gaming people as much as he enjoys whatever ill-gotten gains he might receive. When he dies an embarrassing, pain-riddled death, he is beyond surprised to wake up at an earlier point in his life with all memories still intact. A con man with access to life after life with no real consequences, why would he ever change the way he lives? But Hart Tanner does change. No matter how stubbornly he clings to his own resistance.

Yet another great trip to Middle Falls
Revisado: 05-16-21
I had the pleasure of reading Hart Tanner’s story earlier when it came out in paperback and Kindle. However I couldn’t wait for it to come out in audio as I always get more out of it because of the way the narrator embodies and becomes the character. And in this case, Joe Barrett did a fantastic job of becoming Hart Tanner. Whatever voice I had in my head while reading the print version was erased and now Joe Barrett IS Hart Tanner. He did a fantastic job of conveying Hart’s character, personality, emotions, and story. And of course, the story is a great one, as all Middle Falls stories are. Shawn Inmon once again did a great job of taking us to that wonderfully strange piece of Americana for a brief time. It’s great to live in Middle Falls for a couple of days while I read these books; it’s like a vacation back home, to a simpler time, to a more friendly time. Shawn is a fantastic storyteller and this is a great story. All Middle Falls stories are about lessons to be learned during the characters’ many lives, and this story is a satisfying one about Hart learning to overcome his own troubled upbringing and become someone good. Hats off to both Shawn and Joe; this is a great story!

Really great story to get drawn into!
Revisado: 07-22-20
Yes, it's a fictional story, with an interesting but somewhat predictable premise. But what makes it great is the author's deep knowledge of rock 'n roll performers, styles, and history for the different eras mentioned in the story. This is one book where the telling of the story is better than the story itself, as the author is a fantastic storyteller. The characters are true-to-life, and you feel as if you're really talking to Buddy Holly and other great rockers. Mr. Inmon's portrayal of these legends makes you feel like this is really what it would be like to meet them in the afterlife. The narration is also spot on as well, and Mr. Snow does an excellent job of mimicking the various rock performers in the story. All in all a great, fun ride; albeit too short!

Yet another fantastic Middle Falls story!
Revisado: 07-08-20
After listening to all of the Middle Falls books and some of Shawn Inmon's other stories, I was curious as to how this one would pan out. I may have even been a bit skeptical at first, thinking to myself, "Where else is there to go with this series?" And yet, after listening to the first few pages, I immediately understood that there's no end in sight for the possibilities that Mr. Inmon can imagine for this series and this strange but likeable little town. Yet again he has written believable characters that have depth to them, a curious and interesting story that draws you into it until you can't put it down, and a satisfying resolution that makes you think to yourself, "Yep, that's a good way for it to end." This story is definitely all three of those things. Jonathan Davis provides life to Charles Waters and the other characters, making them come alive off the pages and causing you believe in and root for them. His narration makes you feel like you know these characters, that they are actual breathing, living people. He's a great choice for narrating this book. If this book is the last in the series, then it was a great way to end it. If there are more stories to be told in Middle Falls, then this book just makes you want to hear them all the more!

Almost like taking the drive myself!
Revisado: 07-01-20
I've been to Alaska a few times on business and have enjoyed it each time. Shawn does a great job of telling us his own experiences with his road trip and earlier times in this beautiful state, and his story also serves to make me remember my own experiences there. I actually have been to one of the places Shawn mentions in the book, Delta Junction, twice on a business trip to the adjoining US Army base, Fort Greeley. It is some beautiful country, no matter what time of year you go there. Shawn's storytelling abilities and descriptive language make you feel like you're there with him, but it also makes you want to just get in the car and drive there right now. Gary's narration is superb as usual, and he does a fantastic job of making the scenery come alive with his voice. Definitely a great book to read, and I highly recommend it!

Have you ever wanted to quit your job, jump in the car with the person you love the most, and see what's around the next bend in the road? I did just that. My wife and I were crazy enough to quit good jobs, pack our suitcases, and head for the open road. We took two months and drove through 30 states, visited more than a dozen national parks, and put 13,000 miles of twisting country roads under our wheels. We found once again that the journey is greater than the destination. There's room in the backseat. We'd love for you to come along with us on our lap around America.

Revisado: 06-25-20
Having read Shawn’s other books, mostly fiction, I had waited on reading this one. Now I wish I had read it sooner. Not only did Shawn’s excellent writing skills make this an interesting adventure, it made me want to go see all the sites and more that are mentioned in the book. Some places Shawn talks about I’ve seen, and his colorfully descriptive storytelling skills make me remember how I saw them, but also gives me another dimension of them. Gary does a fantastic job narrating this as well, and gives real depth to the tales of Shawn and Dawn’s two month lap around our country. I highly recommend this book for its vivid descriptions, interesting trivia and facts about all of these places, and just all-around great storytelling.

But Dawn had a core of steel. An emotional castaway, she battled grimly through life's trials and sorrows, safeguarding her heart against further ravages.

This is a fantastic story!
Revisado: 06-14-20
Having read and listened to Shawn Inmon’s Middle Falls time travel series, I decided to read some of his other works because he is such a great storyteller. I have now listened to several of his other books, and they are all great, but this one I hesitated to listen to because I’m not really into romance stories. All I can say is… Wow! The story is incredible, and I’m really impressed not only at the storytelling, but that someone was willing to bare their soul and tell complete strangers the difficult but truly inspirational story about their life. I have not read the first one in this two-book series, but now I’m immediately getting it to read. Written from Dawn‘s perspective, this is truly one of those stories that you will want to read, listen to, and actually FEEL! Thanks so much to both Dawn and Shawn for letting us learn from their intimate pain and experiences but also sharing the ultimate joy of an inspiring life story.

Fantastic Short Fiction!
Revisado: 03-30-20
After listening to all of the Middle Falls series, I was curious to see how Mr. Inmon did on short fiction, and I was NOT disappointed. These are all fantastic stories, and showcase a different style of writing and imagination from the author. Shawn is great at quickly grabbing your interest and then developing a story that holds onto you until the very last word. His characters are all very interesting and believable, and have a satisfying depth to them even in a short space of time and words. Mr. Tiedemann did an awesome job of narrating the stories also; his ability to give different voices to the characters that sound so natural, and maintain your interest in the story until the end is really great. This is a great collection of stories that crosses different genres; there's suspense, humor, melancholy, sadness, excitement, and hope embedded in this collection in the form of these 13 stories. Well worth your time; you will not be disappointed!

Wally Roux is a teenage genius with a big imagination and a big heart, who just moved to Savannah, GA, from Maine with his mom, who adopted him when he was an infant. In this charming and sweet solo performance, Wally investigates what is causing a number of strange events and occurrences. He explores and gets lost within space-time - an infinite, indefinable, and mysterious void that you can’t see but when you slice into it you can feel it.

Good, but not great.
Revisado: 08-08-19
I don't disagree with the other reviews, but for me it was a good story that never seemed to take off. It seemed to wander around sometimes a bit, but overall I enjoyed the concept. The characters were fun and engaging, and the premise was pretty solid to me as well. Spoiler alert... I actually thought (and kept waiting for the revelation that) the whole story was simply in his mind, and he was daydreaming fantasies, made up to compensate for loneliness or not fitting in, as teenagers often do. That never happened, so you are left to believe that this was really happening to him, but it wasn't enough detail or depth to fully believe in that. There were so many loose ends; I hope the author continues Wally's story so we can get more of that.
The narration was very good; Mr. Harper does a fantastic job with the different voices and the speaking style. My only complaint was that I thought it was overacted to a small degree, but I can live with it. Despite that, he did a great job!
My MAJOR complaint with the book was about the distracting background sound effects; I did not think they added anything to the story, and in some parts were confusing because they didn't seem to be in context with what was going on in the story at the moment. They were also very distracting; I had to rewind and listen to several parts over again because I missed them when I got distracted with the sound effects.
Overall, I still enjoyed the book, and would listen to a sequel if the author and narrator produced one (minus the sound effects, hopefully!). It is a very good short story and it is enjoyable.

Revisado: 08-01-19
I listened to this when I only had a few minutes of spare time to kill, but I have to say I was very impressed with the fact that such a great story was crammed into only a few minutes. The build up was fast, but effective. And then there was a wild twist! Holly Holt did a fantastic job of narrating it as well! She was able to capture the nuances of a truly psychotic character! Great story and great narration!
