I really enjoyed listening to Kyle narrate this story.
That being said, I also recommend you pick up the book for easy reference, and highlight/note making, to each vibe for your DSP.

Michael reminds me a bit of a robotic William Shatner. I had to speed up the audio just to get through the story. The pattern of speech with a bit of a crescendo at the end of each sentence, like he's trying to be overly dramatic, is tiring and annoying. If he could tone that down a bit and maybe change it up a bit more between characters for more dimension, he wouldn't be so bad.
As for the story, I give it about a 3.5, maybe. I can't tell if I was rolling my eyes because of the narrator or the actual actions in the book.

Historia
In the spring of 1995, Nate Cartwright has lost everything: His parents are dead, his older brother wants nothing to do with him, and he's been fired from his job as a journalist in Washington, DC. With nothing left to lose, he returns to his family's summer cabin outside the small mountain town of Roseland, Oregon, to try to find some sense of direction. The cabin should be empty. It's not.

What I loved most about this story was all the Easter eggs I found throughout it.
Roseland, Big Eddy, Green Creek, Abby. The mention of the storm in Roseland (we all know what angel did that it you've read Into This River I Drown ;) )
While I enjoyed Looking that and the characters, I have to say this book has a very slow start and I actually got quite bored and almost gave up.
It wasn't until I hate chapter 10 (audio chapter) that things really picked up for the story, and for me.
Artemis Darth Vader is quite the character. She's sweet, intelligent but at the same time naive. She tells it like it is and thinks it's polite because people should know the truth.
Alex reminded me a bit of Cavalo from W+S. he was all gruff and flannels and guns.
Nate, IDK about Nate. He's sad, lonely, and confused but he's sweet. He's made some mistakes in his life, but that didn't stop him from doing what he felt was right.
I think my other favorite part of this audio was when Kurt was doing a rendition of the guy on the radio, Scott Cooper I believe was his name. He was a conspiracy theorist with his own radio show and man did Kurt do that so well.
5* for Easter eggs and Artemis
3* for the slow pace
4* for the narrating

Historia
Sex and chocolate are the two pleasures Michał enjoys most in life. His sex life has been nonexistent for some time, though. After a particularly bad hookup, he keeps mostly to himself. That leaves chocolate. Luckily, he works surrounded by the most delicious, extravagant produce in Gothenburg. Beside his job at the chocolaterie, his main source of excitement is his online friend, Magnus, whom he stubbornly refuses to meet in person. A customer turns up at the chocolaterie one day - tall, shy, and charming. If Michał can step out of his overly safe shell, there might be not only chocolate, but sex, too.

I downgraded the performance part of the review, but I don't think the narrator was necessarily bad, I just didn't think the story translated well to an audiobook.
The beginning of a story usually sets the tone for the book, this one starts out with a series of private messages/emails. When you're reading the story, you can physically see the screen names written down on paper (screen). When listening to an audio you have to rely on the narrator. For the first part of this book, I kind of had no idea what was going on, or who was who, it was just a name said and some dialogue after. I could barely understand what he was saying.
It sounded very droll and robotic. Again, not fully the narrators fault, it's how the story read. Though maybe some flair could have been added somehow to keep it not so monotonous.
From then on, I had a feeling this may not be a good story. I'm glad I kept listening though because thankfully the rest of the story wasn't heavy on messaging.
I am also wondering where the accents were, this story was based in Sweden, but it was all very American English sounding except for a few names of streets and places, etc... I was slightly disappointed in that.
That all being said, this really did turn out to be a lovely story. It was sweet and Magnus was a pleasant surprise. I may have been saying in my head "that's Magnus ya fool! Open your eyes!" I may have also stopped to make some hot chocolate (yes, I melted real chocolate ;) )

You are a wizard
Revisado: 12-13-18
((I found myself talking like Rico the other day. I had a good laugh about it when i realized it))
I loved this book, of course I did. Gordo is my favorite grumpy a-hole to ever have grumped.
I did have a few issues with it though. 1st- Gordo is supposed to be some next level witch/wizard (I still almost peed myself at the "You are a Wizard Harry part (Ox)) even according to his father. If that's the case, why haven't we seen him do more amazing spells? Why couldn't he hold his wards against stupid Dane? Why can't he break his fathers curse? Seems to me all we got was fire-hand (or Firefist if this was Deadpool, HA!) and ice/rose wall... I just really expect more out of him by now, he's 40 years old-ish, darnit! He should be, like, Dumbledore level by now :p
My second issue is with the audio narration. All the female characters seem to bleed together at some point. They don't always sound the same, but a lot of times they do, especially Elizabeth and Meredith.
What's up with this feral Alpha wolf and Carter? I am so freaking curious it's not even funny.
Why does Gordo know him (even though he doesn't know he knows him yet)? I need answers!!

healing for the holidays
Revisado: 12-19-17
What did you love best about 'Tis the Season?
What I liked most about this book was, although they were a 1 night stand with the potential to be insta-love (especially because of the length), it didn't go that way. In fact, the MC's both have deep rooted issues that they need to come to terms with. They actually had to fight a little for each other.
4.25*
What was one of the most memorable moments of 'Tis the Season?
I found their fake names, and the fact they still used them at the end, pretty endearing. It turned into this cute little joke between them, and maybe a few family members.
What does Michael Fell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Michael Fell did an EXCELLENT narration job, he truly brought these characters to life giving them, well, their own character. In fact, he took a book that I already liked and gave it another dimension.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There's quite a bit of angst in this read, but the part that hit me hardest was the end. The graveyard visit and the fact that Dylan/George was so accepting and understanding was what really did me in.
Any additional comments?
This was a nice, short but well written, holiday story. One that makes you feel hopeful and happy for the holidays.

I'd give up forever
Revisado: 12-15-17
Charlie David does a fantastic job narrating.
He's got a nice deep voice but yet he can change the tone and depth to give each character their own "personalities".
The story itself is actually kind of sad.
Yoram finds his True Mate at a very young age, 7 to be exact. Only problem is, his mate was 30 at the time. Even then Yoram knew and tried to protect his mate, even from his own family.
Fast forward 7 more years and Yori goes to visit Sal oy to be shot down, again.
Sill, Yori doesn't give up "taking care of his mate" .
Sal may not know about true mates an bonds, as he has been turned into a vampire but Yori's uncle, Miguel. So he isn't quite sure why human blood just isn't enough for him. Even after getting blood bags donated by an anonymous gifter, he still resists. He knows who it's from, but all he can remember is that child that showed up in his office, and he cannot reconcile between the two.
So when his donations stop coming for a few months, he gets a little nervous and finally decides to bite the bullet and make a trip to the Pack lands.
I think this is why I liked this story so much...
it wasn't really instantaneous love/lust...it was spread over two decades. I like how Yori pits it though, with all the turmoil of the old pack Alpha, Sal would have never been accepted and Yori would have been thrown from pack, therefore never becoming alpha.
CC never let's us down though, we ALWAYS get our HEA. This one was a great one too. I loved that Sal was helping to update the pack in technology and education, to keep them moving forward and being a self sufficient pack.

I expected nothing less from this wonderful duo.
The second book was a great follow up to the first and I cannot wait to delve into book 3. Bet your sweet bippy I'll be reading it before listening to it.
For those that don't follow Michael, do know that due to his upgrade in audio/sound, Kevin does sound a bit different. It took a minute to get used to, but it really took nothing away from the story.
Jesus just as pervy as ever.
