Excellent read for the true SCIENCE Fiction fan
Revisado: 07-06-17
Great story, well thought out and presenting some very interesting "alternate" foundations of society concepts, with a considered perspective on how a biology based technological society might succeed.

Good story, well written, consistent detail
Revisado: 09-22-16
The story holds together very well and has great flow. Characters are consistent and believable. The plot seems to be leading us to a more grand epic, and has done a good job of not overplaying the back story that often spoils the surprise.
Downside is that the characters are a bit shallow in development. The story seems lack an adversary or counterpart to the main character and those characters you think would be developed more extensively seem to fall by the wayside.
Overall, a good book and I am looking forward to seeing where we go.

Could have been a great story, but written for elementary school
Revisado: 09-07-16
The story could have been quite good if it hadn't been dumbed down to an elementary school level. I almost could not bring myself to listen after I got into the story, but was on the road with no options to download something new.
With a little attention to detail and avoiding a penchance for white washing and 'Hollywooding' the story, this could be a great space opera. As it is, I won't be completing this series, and will have a serious look at reviews of Kevin Anderson's next offerings before committing my time to such mind numbing drivel.

Historia
Critically acclaimed author Alastair Reynolds holds a well-deserved place “among the leaders of the hard-science space opera renaissance." ( Publishers Weekly). In Blue Remembered Earth, Geoffrey Akinya wants nothing more than to study the elephants of the Amboseli basin. But when his space-explorer grandmother dies, secrets come to light and Geoffrey is dispatched to the Moon to protect the family name - and prevent an impending catastrophe.

Great story, well told
Revisado: 07-30-16
The storyline has a number of twists that does not adhere to the mass production scheme of linear story telling. Things you are lead to believe are truths turn to not be so and the plot leads to an ending that is not quite what the reader would have predicted.

Historia
In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platform that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, a simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity's broad history, mankind had discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall - and the ability to forget it ever happened.

Great Parallel to Book 1
Revisado: 05-15-16
I enjoyed how this book told the back story and brought us to a convergence with the outcomes of book 1. It was not clear how things would converge, or even whether they would, but it all came together somewhat expectedly. Well considered storyline and leaves enough unknowns to entice us to read the final book in the trilogy.
