Historia
War seethed across the planet. Machines soared through the air, churned through the seas, crawled across the surface, pushing ever forward, carrying death. Earth was engaged in titanic struggle. Germany, Russia, France, China, Japan: the maps were changing day by day. The hostilities spread in ever-widening ripples of destruction: Britain, Italy, Africa...the fate of the world hung in the balance. Then the real enemy came.

Realistic Warfare
Revisado: 12-25-22
"The enemy gets their own say in combat," I found this novel to be a great read! Excellent back and forth flow to combat and the overall strategy of a global conflict. Has a good mix of action spaced out with discoveries of both the invading alien invaders as well as the humans they are trying to dominate. Cultures close and battles are waged on and off the battlefield.

Historia
In 525 BC, the Persian king Cambyses sent 50,000 soldiers across the conquered Egyptian desert to take an oasis city not far from where the Libyan border stands today. According to Greek history, a hurricane-force sandstorm struck near the end of their 600-mile trek. The army - all 50,000 men - vanished without a single trace. Fast forward to 1986. A British archaeological team, sent to the edge of the Great Sand Sea to exhume evidence of the incident, has also gone missing.

I forgot how dark the novels are
Revisado: 10-11-22
Great story, I just forgot how dark and edgy the novels are verses the movies and cartoons. Loved the wellspring of history and mystery that makes the Hellboy books the amazing stories that they are. Great narration and fast paced.

9/10!
Revisado: 10-11-22
I'm a big fan of this author. Overall was a great plot and excellent lead up. Yes it is a 'What-if' premise and can't be held to historical accuracy. But for a what if novel, it was actually interesting with a good mix of action and strategy. Well worth the listen!

Historia
The A!Tol Imperium and their new human subjects have had 15 years of relative peace. New colonies have been founded, new worlds explored, new ships built. Formal and informal alliances have been built with the ancient powers of the Core, leaving humanity and the Imperium seemingly on the brink of a new dawn. The devastation of one of the newly-founded human colonies sends ripples of shock through the Imperium, and a battle fleet under Fleet Lord Harriet Tanaka is dispatched to the edge of the Imperium to find the culprits and bring them to justice.

Good Half/Half story
Revisado: 10-10-22
Was worried that the story would focus solely on the step daughter, but it was in fact well balanced with changing perspectives that keep the story moving. Good mix of mystery, action, and strife. Can't wait to read the next one!

It's getting intense!
Revisado: 10-03-22
Just when you think that the Merry Band of Pirates has it all figured out and Earth is finally safe, the nasty kitties have to up the stakes. It is turning into the Cuban Missile Crises except with galaxy ending weapons. While the series does have aspects of it that seem stale, it is overall an excellent series that rarely repeats the same tropes. The series does keep escalating as the crew deals with the harsh reality of the universe, 'the enemy gets a vote in battle' and 'people make plans and the gods laugh.'

Just okay
Revisado: 10-03-22
Just too cheesy, main character goes on another adventure hits some generic villains and gets laid a few times before saving the day. Once again, the story follows the same routine and only has some minor changes to the overall story and leaves out odd ends of the story. Was interesting at first but the series is quickly becoming stale.

Historia
Kaiden Jericho's life just went sideways. He has been working odd jobs since the first school year ended. (People have to eat, right?) The problem? He isn't as prepared as he thinks he is. Out in the jungles of the Amazon, Kaiden meets a new set of nightmares, and death there is permanent. Even with all his previous training in the Animus, will Kaiden survive? You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. In the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer. Kaiden Jericho would rather skip the death part, thank you very much.

Added action
Revisado: 10-03-22
Just when it feels that the series is settling into a routine the author added a twist to the series that makes it all the more exciting. Though the books are short it keeps the story moving at a fast pace with lots of humor. Can't wait to read more!

Historia
In Battlefield Ukraine, all the usual suspects are hard at work: battles over resources, money, and miscommunication. This predictive novel explores a potential war between NATO and Russia over the fate of the separatist regions in eastern Ukraine. Lines have been drawn in the sand, but how firm are they? Will the massive disinformation campaign by the Russians trick the new American administration to do their bidding? Will the new American president back down, or will the world creep one step closer toward global war?

An Excellent Start!
Revisado: 10-03-22
Was a bit skeptical of this series but I got it on sale and now I can't get enough! A series is only as great as the villains that challenge the heroes. Tom Clancy fans will appreciate the mix of combat, political intrigue, and cyber warfare.

Battlefield Korea picks up in the middle of a brewing global conflict, as the Chinese look to capitalize on Russian intervention in the Ukrainian civil war. The surprise attack there has NATO in chaos, false headlines barrage the Internet, and the war in Ukraine seems all but lost. Will this distraction keep America from intervening in Asia? When the Chinese begin to provide the North Korean regime with additional fuel, hard currency, and weapons, will America still be able to honor its treaty obligations in Asia?
