Historia
In 1978, two corpses were discovered in the sea off Guatemala. Hooded, bound with ropes and weighted down with heavy engine parts, Chris Farmer and his girlfriend Peta Frampton were thrown from a yacht on which they had been crewing. This is the gripping account of how Chris's family painstakingly gathered evidence against the boat's Californian skipper, Silas Duane Boston, working alongside the FBI, Interpol, and police in the UK and the USA. Almost four decades later in 2015, there was a major breakthrough in the case when, using Facebook, Chris's sister Penny tracked Boston down.

Incredible true story well read
Revisado: 10-05-23
This was an incredible story of the long wait and perseverance of a family. Loss, heartache, compassion and forgiveness bring families together across the ocean. So well read. I highly recommend!

Not as good as the Trilogy

But it was interesting. I agree with the others. The narrator was ok but the trilogy narrator was excellent.

Historia
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

It was hard to hear (emotionally) but it was amazing to hear her slowly find herself. Her journey continues and I hope she just gets more and more comfortable with herself and continues to heal. Hope was small but began to blossom. Worth a read, be prepared to cry.

Historia
Her name is Alicia. She was 13 when she began saving the lives of people she did not know - while fleeing the Nazis through war-ravaged Poland. Her family cruelly wrenched from her, Alicia rescued other Jews from the Gestapo, led them to safe hideouts, and lent them her courage and hope. Even the sight of her mother’s brutal murder could not quash this remarkable child’s faith in human goodness - or her determination to prevail against overwhelming odds. After the war, Alicia continued to risk her life, leading Polish Jews on an underground route to freedom in Palestine.

Compelling and inspirational Must read
Revisado: 10-24-22
I am so thankful for her willingness to go back into the nightmare to bring this book to fruition. While I have read many accounts of the holocaust this one was different. Seen through the eyes of a child that became an adult so young. A daily walk in the life and the courageous ingenuity used to care for and generously share all that she had and more.

In March 2000, a suitcase arrived at a children's Holocaust education center in Tokyo, Japan. On the outside, in white paint, were these words: Hana Brady, May 16, 1931, and Waisenkind - the German word for orphan. Children who saw the suitcase on display were full of questions. Who was Hana Brady? What happened to her? They wanted Fumiko Ishioka, the center's curator, to find the answers.

Beautiful and inspiring
Revisado: 09-07-22
This story is written with such compassion and beauty. The Stephanie Wolfe captured the love, passion, and pain of the this true story so well.
Knowing all that Japans people went through during WWII it was inspiring to see this you woman seeking to understand all that happened to a young girl from Prague. I love that she would not let it go, not for her and not for the next generation that needs to know, remember, and hopefully never live to see it all repeated.
Blessings on Hannah’s family and the families of all those who have been touched by this journey.
