Short entry to the series
Revisado: 07-16-17
Would you try another book from K.A. Finn and/or Keith Michaelson?
I would try another book by Ms. Finn because I'm hooked on the characters and the plot of the Nomads and how they are fighting the Federation. I also enjoy Mr. Michaelson's narration, and have actually looked for more books with his narration to add to my growing TBR Mountain.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was disappointed in the ending as I felt it was just setting up for the next novel. The first 2 books in the series, while also setting up for other books, seemed more complete than this one. As a reader I felt that there should be more to it, or perhaps I felt disappointed that the other books were much longer in nature than this one.
What about Keith Michaelson’s performance did you like?
Mr. Michaelson's performance was stellar as always.
Could you see Perses being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Not this book per say, but the series as a whole yes. I could see some like Chris Evans or Chris Pine be a good fit for Braydon.
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I just hope it comes soon...

In exchange for a vial of dragon's blood to save her brother's life, Melanie Hall offers herself up as a sacrifice to one of the British dragon-shifter clans. Being a sacrifice means signing a contract to live with the dragon-shifters for six months to try to conceive a child. Her assigned dragonman, however, is anything but easy. He's tall, broody, and alpha to the core. There's only one problem - he hates humans.

Human + Whiney Inner Dragon = Aggravation
Revisado: 07-07-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend the print version. While the narrator did a good job with the human voices and in fact his Scottish Accents are wonderful, personally I could not take the "inner dragon voice's" constant whiney tone whenever the narrator switched to him. It reminded me too much of a middle school boy who only thinks of what he wants without thought for anyone else. That really threw my enjoyment of the novel off.
What three words best describe Matthew Lloyd Davies’s voice?
Yummy Scottish Accent
Any additional comments?
I liked the world building, the plot, the chemistry between the H/h. The struggles between the Dragons and Hunters are intriguing as well. I will probably switch to print form for the next book.

The Enemy of my Enemy is my Ally
Revisado: 05-07-16
What did you love best about Nemesis?
After reading the first book in the series, I was so happy to have more Griffin, Nomads, & New Foundation. I loved all the development of the characters' relationship while not skimping on action. In addition to the characters from the first book, there were several new characters introduced that gave the story an added level of instensity. Saber is always a hoot & I loved how Mila just tells it like it is. :)
What did you like best about this story?
Griffin, Griffin, Griffin. I loved how his character developed into a more human cyborg (oxymoron phrase?). I ached for him, but was delighted in his growth into a man, friend, relative. His relationship with Terra, at first was awkward, but I was pleased to see it develop as a normal relationship in spite of the machinery, issues, etc.
Which character – as performed by Keith Michaelson – was your favorite?
Griffin! His rough growl is superb.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Toward the end of the story, there's a plot twist that I figured out was coming, but it still gave me a "WTF!" moment in my car.
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the next installment. It will go near the top of my TBR mountain.

Cyborg Space Opera
Revisado: 04-21-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Ares to be better than the print version?
I've not read the print verison, only the audio.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ares?
There were several memorable, pro, meh, and con.
Pro: Space Battles! Chemistry between characters. World Building. Griffin. I'm a sucker for an angsty alpha male.
Meh: Timing between sections and within sections...some of the scenes seemed too quick, while others felt too drawn out for the actions. The speed of some of the surgeries and such. It seemed like a blink of the eye that the characters would be operated on and then just as quick moving around, etc. Seemed to push the boundaries of acceptable realism.
Cons: The actions of the heroine (Terra) seemed a bit to naive for an officer, and while that does reveal a cherished innocence, it was also annoying that some of her actions were ill thought out in the grand scheme of things. The graphic inferences of the 'surgeries'. Some of the plot was a bit predictable.
What does Keith Michaelson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mr. Michaelson's rough gravelly voice for Griffin gave me shivers in a good way. He was also able to help me picture the characters more intensely in my head. The Surgeon's Voice still gives me the creeps!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Actions near the end of the novel between Chase and Griffin were heartbreaking, as well as Griffin's 'dreams' while in the lab.
Any additional comments?
It took about 40 or so minutes to really get hooked on the story, but after that I couldn't stop listening. While the plot did have some obvious predictability, and I have issues with the female lead's actions, overall this was a good beginning novel for what I hope to be a great series. I'm looking forward to devouring the next book! This book was gifted in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook blast dot com.

Sweet Mail Order Bride Romance
Revisado: 01-13-16
What did you like best about Train Station Bride: Prairie Romance? What did you like least?
I liked how family was a prominent part of the story. It was sweet and tender, a refreshing change of read for me, from what I traditionally read. The H & h had good chemistry, even though it was "insta" chemistry in some respects. What I had some difficulties with was the timing of the events. Some of the things seemed to happened simultaneously, even though it should take a few days for a train ride.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It was a short listen so some fleshing out would have made it longer and perhaps more than a sweet read.
Which character – as performed by Meghan Kelly – was your favorite?
I liked Flossie, Jake's sister. She has spunk! :)
Any additional comments?
This is a short sweet read. I overall a good way to pass an afternoon. I'll be putting the next book on my TBR Mountain. This book was given in exchange for an unbiased review. :)

Paranormal Nash
Revisado: 01-13-16
Would you listen to Voodoo Moon again? Why?
I enjoyed the story and world building. It was a good beginning to what I hope to be a new favorite series. I particularly enjoyed the setting as I'm originally from Nashville. It kept me intrigued if I could figure out where the events were happening even though it was Nashville after a Cataclysm.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Ian (the Hero). While Fiona is a good female lead, I found a few times I had to shake my head, but overall I really enjoyed Ian's personality.
Have you listened to any of Rebecca Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first performance I've listened to Ms. Roberts. Her female character voices were well done. Her male character voices were okay. They were distinct, but it would have been a nice listen if the male & female leads were two narrators, as the chapters were set up for each character's point of view.
Any additional comments?

Scottish Romance?
Revisado: 11-06-15
Would you try another book from Victoria Howard and/or Ruth Urquhart?
I'm torn by this novel. I had high hopes, and in places, I was very engaged in the listening, but overall it had a disconnected feel to the plot. I felt I needed more connection with the main characters in general. The chemistry between the hero and heroine felt forced at times. I'm not sure if I would read something else by the author.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting aspect was the interactions between the villagers & Anna (the heroine) as well as as viewing day to day activities in Scotland. The least interesting was the "suspense" storyline. At first I couldn't understand the motivation behind the "villain" which bugged me, but I could predict the actions of the character. Overall my impression of the plot was one without flow.
Did Ruth Urquhart do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Ms. Urquhart female voices were excellent as well as the Scottish accent, however her male character voices seemed flat.
Was The House on the Shore worth the listening time?
It passed the time, but isn't a novel I would revisit.

Speech Team Reality TV
Revisado: 10-21-15
What did you love best about The Fine Art of Keeping Quiet?
The story was well paced, thoughtful and made me laugh in several spots. It reminded me of high school and all the drama involved. It was a unique perspective of someone who has a phobia about public speaking being on the high school speech team. After reading, I need to revisit several novels mentioned in the story, just to re-experience them. :) The story had some minor movement issues in the flow, as perhaps it needed to be fleshed out a bit more, especially at the end, but overall it was a sweet, funny read. I'm looking forward to other titles by the author.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jolea (sp?) is a great character! She had some moments that I wanted to shake her, but that was perhaps coming from an older person who has a bit more experience in life.
What does Ashley Klanac bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ms. Klanac was spot on in her performance! Both her male & female voices were distinct from each other and well done. :) She will be a performer to keep an eye on!

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Overall the book was an ok read. It took some time to get into the story, but the premise had an interesting appeal to me. Some of the writing felt stilted at times, and the chemistry between the H & h wasn't as "electric" as it could have been.
Would you be willing to try another book from A. P. Jensen? Why or why not?
I would be willing to listen to the next book in the series, as I'm curious as to the rest of the overall plot is unfolding.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was okay. Her male voices were differentiated from the female ones by huskiness and most of the characters had distinctive voices. Some of the scenes felt choppy in their portrayal, but I'm not sure if that was due to the narrator, the written word, or the production.
