Such an Improvement
Revisado: 07-01-23
I used to absolutely hate The Lion. So rigid and unyielding in view and idea. This older and out of step Lion is amazing. Forgiving lost sons and asking it in return. I have high hopes for him and his boys going forward.

Historia
The eldar are an ancient race whose mode of war blends spirituality with a unique mastery of technology. In times of need, their entire race will rouse to war, led by terrifying, almost mythological figures - the phoenix lords, immortal beings that embody the warrior nature of the eldar. When a burgeoning ork empire starts to pose a threat to the eldar peoples, Jain Zar travels to the craftworld Ulthwé to warn them of the danger.

I got lost in the Storm
Revisado: 01-10-23
This was the first 40k story I had listened to that was not focused on the Imperium and I must say that it lands as one my favorites overall. I have always like the Aeldari but only knew a little about them really. To follow a Phoenix Lord and learn of their origin is incredible. Emma Gregory nails it again for me and I look forward to more of both her and tales from the Craftworlds.

A boy who just needed love.
Revisado: 01-06-23
I had deep issues with Lorgar and was ready to have my...for want of a better word "hatred" for him redoubled. Instead I found myself feeling for him. he could have been one of the most amazing primarchs and one of the most fiercely loyal. This was way better than I thought it would be and I recommend anyone read or listen to it.

What a Legend!
Revisado: 10-31-22
This is the first non-imperium story I have heard so far and its also the shortest. I love the Aeldari and Asurmen has long been a bit of a mystery to me so to start in on their lore with him was a treat. I love how hes more than just a great warrior. He is wise and caring as shown in his relationships with Eldrad and his student. The story is very Arthurian in style which is a huge plus for me.
The VA ensemble is wonderful with the voice alterations being clear most of the time. John Banks is a personal fav of mine since I did Dark Imperium before this and he did very well there.
All and all a great tale for any 40k fan or anyone with a taste for adventure!

Historia
Born to a life of political conflict, Perturabo was always considered a child prodigy among the people of Olympia - indeed, his philosophical and scientific works were beyond compare. But then, after his rediscovery by the Emperor and decades of thankless military campaigning on the Great Crusade, the primarch begins to resent his Legion's place in the Imperium.

Revisado: 10-19-22
I feel sad in both that I have finished this story and for Perturabo. A magnificent person in the beginning turned to such horror and torment through his inability to accept praise and love which is ultimately what he wants and needs. I both understand how he fell but also don't. I feel this Perturabo isn't even the same as the one that joined Chaos.

I must say that this is a refreshing approach to the sisters of the sororitas. This is a story for those who enjoy stories of the imperial church but want to see thinkers and flaws in it. Emma Gregory does a wonderful job bringing the women of the sororitas to life.

Long before the coming of the Imperium, the realm of Ultramar was ruled by Roboute Guilliman, the last Battle King of Macragge. Even after learning of his true heritage as a primarch son of the Emperor of Mankind, he strove to expand his domain as efficiently and benevolently as possible, with the XIII Legion Ultramarines as his alone to command.

guilliman never fails to be human
Revisado: 02-18-22
UM stories always are a joy to me. this legion was very human and wanted to continue to be human. Guilliman wants them to never forget what they are and that just because they are weapons that they will not always be weapons. I went through Dark Imperium before this and I do enjoy both versions of the primarch. FOR COURAGE AND HONOUR!

From Guilliboy to GuilliMAN
Revisado: 12-10-21
I love this story so far. Guilliman questioning so much in the galaxy since being in a 9 millenia long nap seems realistic. so much has gone wrong in his eyes and war is still rampent when he was expecting it to all be over. He really was the most idealistic and naive of hes brothers during the Horus Heresy now sees all laid bear and feels conflicted. I can't wait to read the next book.

Historia
Of all the Emperor’s immortal sons, the primarchs, it is Konrad Curze whose legend is the darkest. Born in the shadows of Nostramo, a world of murderers, thieves and worse, is it any surprise that he became the figure of dread known only as the Night Haunter? Heed now the tragic story of the creature Konrad Curze, master of the Night Lords Legion, of how he became a monster and a weapon of terror. He who once served the Imperium saw the truth in a maddening universe and the hypocrisy of a loveless father, and embraced the only thing that made any sense - darkness.

Guy Haley's artistic style of writing delights the senses and sparks the mind! I feel like I'm in an alley or gazing upon Konrad as the lines play into my ear. Jonathan Keeble's voice is a dark shade perfect for this tale. I am overjoyed at one of my absolute FAVORITE characters in the 30k/40k was given life by these 2. Thank you so for this gift.
