I liked where this was going until the colorism came into play with the whole "pale skin madness" thing
like your telling me only white men can be the perfect fit for entire race of women and said women who would never share could instantly expect poly lifestyle.
I get that this is the author's world and being a non white reader i should expect crap like this. there are many writers who do this but I just couldn't get past the bullshit idea that no other human male would be compatible unless they're white

I have a problem with this

Their are problems I have with this book, there are Inconsistencies that make certain things wrong. 1st off I don't have a problem with overcoming the traumatic events like what happened to his lion wife I do however find it strange that she allowed him to be sexually assaulted in his sleep and also Participated in the action. After she had gone through being someone's plaything for a year I would think she wouldn't allow that to happen to the man who saved her loved and guided her through the trauma that she's was forced to endure. Simply to Write this off as as just sexy fun and not that serious to a person like Max Who doesn't let anyone do anything he doesn't like or agree with regardless of who they are kind of minimalizes his character.
Making Valencia's character unbothered and agreeable to the act of letting her man be raped in his sleep by women who weren't apart of his family and even participating in the act makes what she went through seem more or less meaningless.There are certainly ways to handle sex scenes with characters but this wasn't the way to do it.

It didn’t surprise him that even in death, people were still using him for their own purposes. He had never exactly been a good guy, but everyone had their breaking point, and he had found his. The bastards in charge had uploaded his mind into a virtual death game. The whole world could now pay to see him play it and probably die. Regardless, he was not about to wait for death to come for him.
