Kramer and Reading shine the whole series
Revisado: 10-24-22
The Wheel of Time is an incredible story. Kramer and Reading do as fantastic job throughout the 14 book series, as they do in this, the first book. they consistently portray expansive character with their vocal expressiveness.

Historia
In October 2012, a replica of the famous HMS Bounty, an eighteenth-century tall sailing ship, was on a collision course with a storm that would become the largest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic - a clash that would prove dramatic, tragic, perplexing, and ultimately one of the most unforgettable stories of Superstorm Sandy. Crewed by an eclectic team of seafarers, the Bounty was led by Robin Walbridge, their highly respected captain with decades at the helm, whose actions - sometimes questionable - decided the fate of his ship and crew.

makes you feel like you could do it, too!
Revisado: 05-07-19
This fun story, in which the authors share their troubles as well as their successes, will make you feel like you can chase your own dreams. while they have the privilege of throwing some money at their problems, it is very much a limited supply just like most of the rest of us. it's empowering to hear just how far this family of 7 could go!

an honest and interesting tale
Revisado: 04-29-19
James Baldwin has led an interesting life, and his stories are honest feeling and memorable. while his narration is perhaps a bit drab, it is nonetheless enjoyable to hear the author relate his own stories. On YouTube, you can find videos to cp along with this 90s tale of cruising from Asia to south Africa, with many colorful stops along the way.

Historia
This audiobook is the story of sailing across the ocean from Guam to San Francisco on our wonderful sailboat, the "Spirit of the Wind", a 41 foot Taiwan-built Ketch designed by William Garden. A group of 20-something kids went to Guam looking for the meaning of life, bought a boat, fixed it up, and learned to sail across the ocean. It was a beautiful and spiritual journey, while at times was totally and completely terrifying. It introduced me to the South Pacific Islands and the wonderful and gracious people there - it was truly a paradise.

interesting story; poorly edited
Revisado: 03-31-19
this was an interesting story and i enjoyed hearing it. however, both the text itself, and the performance especially, were not sufficiently edited. the story often rambles , including irrelevant details out of chronological order, only to reiterate later when the timeline catches up. the audio stops mid sentence and there are several occurrences of repeated phrases. i began to wonder if no one had actually listened to the audio in its entirety before delivering it. now that I've heard the whole thing, i believe that's probably true. this isn't a slight on the author's side ; i understand it's her first book. the publisher of the text and the audio should have set a higher bar.
