I love the book, but the audible version is a huge disappointment. The narration is just awful. What do you get when you cross a robot and a valley girl? This narrator’s voice. I had to stop listening before it ruined the book for me.

I loved the male narrator and the story was good; however, the female narrator ruined it for me. Her cadence is odd and distracting, but what truly ruined the book was the voice she used for Lucian was terrible.
Honestly, I just cannot finish this. A shame, really. When the male narrator is talking it’s great. I’ll avoid the female in the future.

I love the story, and the male narrator is perfection.
But the female narrator is ruining the entire listening experience.
Her voice for the main female character is nasal and abrasive, but that’s not the worst part. The voice she uses for the male main character (shudder!)
It sounds like a robot-—a bored, slow-witted robot, at that. I’m five chapters in, but I just don’t think I can take anymore. It’s a shame; I was really looking forward to listening to this series. Under the circumstances, I’ll continue reading it on my Kindle.

I love Lana Sky, and I loved this book, so I thought the audible would be equally enjoyable. But I just couldn’t listen after two chapters—and even that took an effort. The narrator was awful; her voice was so whiny and annoying. I wanted to drive a pen into my ear just to make it stop.

This is one of my all time favorite books. The first time I read it, I wasn’t sure what was happening but I kept an open mind and—wow. This is a clever British police procedural mystery with a very unusual and sexy love story. Acton and Doyle’s relationship is loving, tender, emotionally intimate, and SO damned hot. It may be unconventional, but it’s perfect for them.
I own the entire series, in both Kindle and audible formats. Every now and and then, I go back and read/listen to them again, and I thoroughly enjoy every moment.
I look forward to the next book in the series. More Acton and Doyle, please!

This is a thoughtful, well-researched, engrossing series which reveals a fascinating woman behind the usual hype and hysteria. Additionally, the host's voice is as smooth and rich as a fine glass of port. Well done.

I could not even finish the first chapter. The narrator is just horrible. She reads so slowly, and with such exaggerated inflection, that I could not get involved in the story. And the voice she used for the male lead--shudder!

I tried--I really tried to finish this book. I liked the storyline and the characters, particularly the male lead. But the narrator just killed it. The voice she used for the male lead sounded silly and annoying, and the accent she used for him was so awful that at first I did not even understand that he was supposed to be Italian. It sounded like he was from Saudi Arabia. Then it began to switch between what sounded like a bad Indian accent and Count Chocula. Additionally, her voice inflections actually made me wince. When things got sexy, she sounded like a sixth grader who had found a dirty book in her mother's drawer and was reading it aloud to her friends. It absolutely ruined the mood. I am astonished that this woman is a professional narrator. Don't waste your time.

This is a lovely, well written, angst-filled, beautiful, sexy romance. My only issue is the narrator. She made the heroine sound like an old woman. And her male voices were just awful; at times the shrieking tone she used for the hero's voice pulled me right out of the story. One of the best books in recent memory, and Iove audiobooks, but the narration--shudder!
