This would have been great with a different FMC and narrator… a likable FMC. The MMC was the only thing that saved this book.

This was practically an insta love book but what I love about the FMC & the MMC is that they communicated their feelings. There was no beating around the bush or playing games. The MMC knew what he wanted and went tf after it. Even though the FMC struggled internally, she didn’t crumble and succumb to her issues. She fought through with the MMC’s help. I loved it! I know I’m not alone when I say every woman wants a Morris. Swoon worthy indeed. 💙

It was good… but

I liked that Mac was not torn about what his job was. He’s a soldier, highly trained and has no qualms about what needs to be done. He kept family and duty separate but still present. However, I felt there was too much focus on the “enemy” and not enough on Mac and more of what he was thinking. I zoned out several times when the focus on the other characters and their reasons for wanting to commit such heinous crimes. Overall, good book but I wouldn’t go out of my way to read another.
