A perfect X-Men story!
Revisado: 12-29-23
This is a perfectly written and performed story from start to finish! I love how emotionally connected you feel to the characters and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat!

Don’t waste your time
Revisado: 11-16-23
Instead of a book discussing mortality and the meaning of existence, this is a political book about oppression. Take today’s political climate and stuff it into a book that’s trying to be deep— it’s not. Everything about this book is shallow. Don’t waste your time because the characters are surface level and you won’t ever find out why the boxes appear.

My new favorite book
Revisado: 05-23-23
Everything about this experience was amazing; the writing, characters, world, and reader were all top notch. It’s been hard finding literature with characters displaying real internal conflicts rather than overblown unnecessary drama, or worse - the modern propaganda in practically all the new fiction. This story felt grounded, raw, and real. Life is messy and so are these characters and emotions.

Intense but Interesting
Revisado: 03-07-22
Stephen King has one of the best tones. I literally fall into his stories so easily. Some of his ideas are wicked and cruel, but this man can tell a story. I was intrigued the entire time. If you can handle stomach-wrenching gore, read this book. And I don’t love that stuff at all, but what makes it worth the read are the characters. It’s emotional but extremely intense.

Deep in the Hungarian woods, the sacred magic of King Solomon lives on in his descendants. Gathering under the midnight stars, they perform small miracles and none are more gifted than the great Rabbi Isaac and his three daughters. Hannah, bookish and calm, can coax plants to grow even when the weather is bitterly cold. Sarah, defiant and strong, can control the impulsive nature of fire. And Levana, the fey one, can read the path of the stars to decipher their secrets.

Don’t waste your time
Revisado: 03-07-22
Story started off interesting, but halfway through it was confusing and extremely plot driven. There was no emotional relatability with the characters, they were solely punching bags. The author loses all the momentum she built in the beginning. I thought I was listening to a completely different book. It also seemed as if the writer was checking off boxes in what she included as far as traumas and identity politics go. Don’t waste your time. I read well over half of the book and DNF… I just couldn’t do it.

Historia
All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

Loved Most of this!
Revisado: 07-02-21
Loved William Hurt’s narration, and Stephen King did a good job as well. I loved Part one and Part five. I was the most engaged with those! I felt I could have done without the other stories. But overall, I gave it 4 stars because the writing was well done and was overall an amazing story - I would recommend. I would just recommend to read parts 1 and 5!
Thank you, Stephen King!!!

Historia
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

A piece of heaven
Revisado: 06-07-21
This just became my new favorite book. It’s a perfect story and Lucy is incredibly poetic. I often found myself mesmerized by her diction. Following Anne was a privilege. It allowed me to learn what it means to live a more present and imaginative lifestyle. I could only dream to live as well as Anne.
Rachel McAdams added so much dimension to the characters and setting. No one else could have told this story any better.
Thank you, to everyone who created such a timeless piece of art ❤️
