Historia
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

A Lush Story to Savor
Revisado: 04-18-20
This is a story I did not want to end. I somewhat enjoyed The Odyssey years ago. but this is the perfect female perspective to the story of Greek mythology. Circe is a "lesser" goddess/ witch that is considered almost a footnote in the Odyssey.
Miller gives her the treatment and voice of an honest and humble woman. independent but unsure of her own power -- The inner Odyssey of spirit.
it's beautifully written and beautifully narrated.

Historia
Gretchen and Steve have been married for a long time. Living in San Francisco, recently separated, with two children and demanding jobs, they’ve started going to a marriage counselor. Unfolding over the course of 10 months and taking place entirely in the marriage counselor’s office, John Jay Osborn’s Listen to the Marriage is the story of a fractured couple in a moment of crisis, and of the person who tries to get them to see each other again.

Good point of view
Revisado: 11-16-18
I really enjoyed the story of a marriage from a therapist's point of view. It was refreshing. it was less about hearing two people fight and more about the therapist's hope that the husband and wife grow as people who are better partners.

Real advice for teal, complicated people
Revisado: 06-22-16
if you are a fan of the podcast Dear Sugar, you will love this book. Though I missed Steve Almond' s voice and male insight, I thought Tiny Beautiful Things was amazing. Strayed is a perfect narrator. Her selection of advice letters is so broad and far ranging , you are sure to hear your own conflicts at least once. her word are a terrific map to being your authentic self.

An amazing story told masterfully by its creator.
Revisado: 09-22-15
I think listening to an author read their own story is a gift in itself. Alice Walker 's
voice is so complimentary to her narrative that it is spellbinding.
