Narration was fantastic
Revisado: 12-26-24
Good story with likable characters who you want to succeed. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending which seemed abrupt as there is way more story to tell. The narrator is great and really made the story of Anton and Robbie come alive.

Jonathan Forest should never have hired Sam. It was a sentimental decision, and Jonathan didn't get where he is by following his heart. Determined to set things right, Jonathan orders Sam down to London for a difficult talk…only for a panicking Sam to trip, bump his head, and maybe accidentally imply he doesn't remember anything?

Another nice Alexis Hall story
Revisado: 11-12-23
A cute story how a guy fakes amnesia after he is injured on the job and then taken in by his prickish boss. I think there should have been a bit more explaining how Sam even knew his boss was gay and vice versa. The story is kind of predictable in a way that you know how it’s going to get there and end. I would like to have known more about Jonathan and why he is the way he is. The narrator was good and kept my attention. Would have liked a bit more spiciness in the one sex scene but I expect that with AH’s stories. It’s pretty much all or nothing with him when it comes to that.

Revisado: 11-03-23
I enjoyed the story a great deal and the narration by the sublime Joe Jameson was perfection. I felt there were a few things that were left hanging at the end so that why only 4 stars. A little more spice would have been appreciated as well

Historia
Born under different stars—Mungo a Protestant and James a Catholic—they should be sworn enemies if they’re to be seen as men at all. Their environment is a hyper-masculine and sectarian one, for gangs of young men and the violence they might dole out dominate the Glaswegian estate where they live. And yet against all odds Mungo and James become best friends as they find a sanctuary in the pigeon dovecote that James has built for his prize racing birds.

Heartbreaking
Revisado: 09-03-23
It took me a while to get into this book and i found myself with a growing sense of dread as it progressed. I thought, no good will come to this boy and I was proved right. It is painful to listen to the things this poor boy has to endure, no one deserves this.
I didn’t like the back and forth of the chapters it gets confusing. I did like the narration and even as an American, was able to understand what was being said. I also didn’t like the abrupt ending. You spend all this time developing a relationship with these characters, getting to know them and in the end you’re left not knowing. I hope there’s a happy ending for Young Mungo out there somewhere

Historia
It’s 1914, and World War I is ceaselessly churning through thousands of young men on both sides of the fight. The violence of the front feels far away to Henry Gaunt, Sidney Ellwood and the rest of their classmates, safely ensconced in their idyllic boarding school in the English countryside. News of the heroic deaths of their friends only makes the war more exciting. Gaunt, half German, is busy fighting his own private battle—an all-consuming infatuation with his best friend, the glamorous, charming Ellwood—without a clue that Ellwood is pining for him in return

Amazingly beautiful story
Revisado: 04-25-23
I really cannot say enough positive things about this book which details 2 schoolboys as they deal with their feelings about one another while in the midst of the First World War. It is truly beautifully written and captured me from the beginning. I have a new appreciation of what war must be like and it’s neither beautiful nor amazing. Bravo to Ms. Winn for transporting me back to that time and making me appreciate all that happened. I think this book will stay with me for a long time to come,

Historia
In Boyfriend Material, Luc and Oliver met, pretended to fall in love, fell in love for real, dealt with heartbreak and disappointment and family and friends...and somehow figured out a way to make it work. Now it seems like everyone around them is getting married, and Luc's feeling the social pressure to propose. But it'll take more than four weddings, a funeral, and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from "I don't know what I'm doing" to "I do". Good thing Oliver is such perfect Husband Material.

4 weddings and a funeral?
Revisado: 09-11-22
Having just recently finished Boyfriend Material, I was happy to find that this book was coming out as I was not ready to leave Oliver and Luc.
This story starts nearly 3 yrs later and the guys are trying to figure out the ends and out of being committed. I love their relationship and how they deal with the day in and day out issues. Don’t want to spoil it but the guys look into getting married, but do they?

Historia
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.

Absolutely adored it
Revisado: 07-16-22
I must admit, I kind of fell in love with both Oliver and Luc, the protagonists of this tale, both endearing in their own ways. Typical tale of boy meets boy who secretly really like each other but can’t be honest about it. The narration was excellent. Looking forward to seeing more of them in the next book!

Continuation of Devil Wears Prada sort of
Revisado: 06-28-22
While there are a few of the characters from the original book, it is not really a sequel. We meet Emily a few years later where she has changed from the magazine business to being a fixer of sorts. Yeah I don’t know how that leap was made either nor was it ever explained. I was frustrated by the lack of explanation of this. Miranda returns, still the same and Emily still is intimidated by her. I can’t understand why she would even come within 2 feet of this woman but she does, being fired x2 obviously doesn’t phase her. The other story entwined here is of a former supermodel and her issues with her cheating senator husband. Really wasn’t too invested in that storyline. Andi is only mentioned once which was surprising since I thought they were such good friends despite Emily stabbing her in the back. Would have rather heard more about her than Karolina. Anyway, I have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing of Emily
