Historia
In the early 1990s, eight people living in a small conservative Florida town alleged that Dr. David Acer, their dentist, infected them with HIV. David's gayness, along with his sickly appearance from his own AIDS-related illness, made him the perfect scapegoat and victim of mob mentality. In these early years of the AIDS epidemic, when transmission was little understood, and homophobia rampant, people like David were villainized. Accuser Kimberly Bergalis landed a People magazine cover story, while others went on talk shows and made front page news.

A poetic rendering of a sobering and shameful part of the AIDS crisis, the story gives voice and presence to a fortunate man whose life was cut short by ignorance and fears rampant in society at the time.Betrayed by lies his history now seen in this beautiful quilt of the moments of his life.

Great reader and awesome writer. Wish I had this information when I held six bitcoins❣️Luckily I kept one and have learned my lesson. I feel I have a road map even though the map is not the territory. Feeling less smug about owning FANG stocks a good perspective on the silos of info And despite the naysayers feel blockchain a door into a prosperous future .

Historia
Just as WASPs, Irish-Catholics, and Our Crowd Jews once made the ascent from immigrants to powerbrokers, it is now the Indian-American's turn. Citigroup, PepsiCo and Mastercard are just a handful of the Fortune 500 companies led by a group known as the "Twice Blessed". Yet little is known about how these Indian émigrés (and children of émigrés) rose through the ranks. Until now....

Would you listen to The Billionaire's Apprentice again? Why?
No.I found it fantastic just listening to it once.
What did you like best about this story?
The writing was high fantastical. The characters, being real life, were depicted in such a way that I felt I was often reading fiction
Have you listened to any of Dan Woren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
NoBut I willHe was awesome
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I learned a lot about McKinsey, and a whole world of consulting that havingfriends in that field I never understood.I had already learned a lot from Dark Edge about the intricacies of hedge funds. I remember reading Barbarian at the Gates decates ago, on vacation in Mexico. I couldn't put the book down, this book and
Black Edge show that when one has a fantastic writer, who is able to do research and get into the minds and hearts of his "characters" provides not only a griping story but also a
seminar on so many things, the SEC, the Feds, the traders,
Any additional comments?
This is a tragedy. But I learned a lot, although I had so much compassionfor Gupta.

Historia
In 2011, a 26-year-old libertarian programmer named Ross Ulbricht launched the ultimate free market: the Silk Road, a clandestine website hosted on the Dark Web where anyone could trade anything - drugs, hacking software, forged passports, counterfeit cash, poisons - free of the government's watchful eye. It wasn't long before the media got wind of the new website where anyone - not just teenagers and weed dealers but terrorists and black hat hackers - could buy and sell contraband detection-free.

Historia
An instant New York Times best seller, Dan Lyons' "hysterical" (Recode) memoir, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "the best book about Silicon Valley," takes listeners inside the maddening world of fad-chasing venture capitalists, sales bros, social climbers, and sociopaths at today's tech startups. For 25 years Dan Lyons was a magazine writer at the top of his profession - until one Friday morning when he received a phone call: Poof. His job no longer existed. "I think they just want to hire younger people," his boss at Newsweek told him.

The author
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author
What about Dan Lyons’s performance did you like?
I rarely like author's reading their work-his reading was spot on. His writing spot on.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When he left!
Any additional comments?
Just a great read. Better than a novel. The fact that he was such a great journalist and treated everyone fairly albeit ultimately trenchantly made me appreciate it more-he didn't spare himself. His humor and ability to compress (loved the chapter titles) was so refreshing. I felt I was in the trenches with him every day.

The life story of Gary Gygax, godfather of all fantasy adventure games, has been told only in bits and pieces. Michael Witwer has written a dynamic, dramatized biography of Gygax from his childhood in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to his untimely death in 2008. Gygax's magnum opus, Dungeons & Dragons, would explode in popularity throughout the 1970s and '80s and irreversibly alter the world of gaming. D&D is the best-known, best-selling role-playing game of all time, and it boasts an elite class of alumni.

Very enjoyable story HIStory while also providing not only Gygax's story along with the history of D &D Great reader and starting most chapters with an actual scenario brilliant giving those unfamiliar with the game a real sense of its now legendary legacy. I owned a small mapping company in the early days of Gen Con and it was pure delight to read about people like Tim Kask etc who we interacted with in those early days when my sons would trade our map stamps for products.
