Historia
Captains Courageous is Rudyard Kipling’s classic fable of a boy’s initiation into the fellowship of men, played out on the high seas of the late 1800s. When he falls overboard from a luxury liner, Harvey Cheyne, the spoiled son of an American millionaire, is rescued by a small New England fishing schooner. To earn his keep, Harvey must prove his worth in the only way the skipper and his hardy crew will accept: through the grueling mastery of a fisherman’s skills.

Great classsic
Revisado: 03-05-25
I chose this, it’s a little out of my standard wheelhouse, but I’ve been following George Caddell the narrator more than I’ve been following authors. I knew this was a classic that I had never read so I let George read it to me and he did not disappoint. Great narration, fun lesson semi short, highly recommend, especially for younger male readers.

Historia
In David Ignatius' gripping new novel, spies don' t bother to steal information...they change it, permanently and invisibly. Graham Weber has been director of the CIA for less than a week when a Swiss kid in a dirty T-shirt walks into the American consulate in Hamburg and says the agency has been hacked, and he has a list of agents' names to prove it. This is the moment a CIA director most dreads. Weber isn' t sure where to turn until he meets a charismatic (and unstable) young man named James Morris who runs the Internet Operations Center.

Revisado: 02-25-25
While the story is wildly imaginative, it still is entirely possible in the days and ages that we live in, narration is excellent stories is good. I kept reading parts that I wanted to record and sent to friends of mine. Great book.

Historia
When Pope Paul VII dies suddenly, Gabriel Allon is summoned to Rome by the Holy Father’s loyal private secretary, Archbishop Luigi Donati. A billion Catholic faithful have been told that the pope died of a heart attack. Donati, however, has two good reasons to suspect his master was murdered. The Swiss Guard who was standing watch outside the papal apartments the night of the pope’s death is missing. So, too, is the letter the Holy Father was writing during the final hours of his life. A letter that was addressed to Gabriel.

Just another classic Gabriel along novel, as I listen, I wonder what is real, and not real, which makes the authors notes probably the most interesting part of the read

Historia
World War II tail gunner Gene Moran fell four miles through the sky without a parachute and lived. Captured by the Germans, he survived a harrowing eighteen months as a prisoner of war, including a six-hundred-mile death march in 1945 across Central Europe. When Gene returned home, he kept those memories locked up for nearly seventy years. His nine children knew little of their dad's war story. But when John, a young history teacher, learns of Gene's amazing fall, he's desperate to learn more. Finally, Gene agrees.

Fun listen
Revisado: 10-26-23
While the entire book was fun to listen to, the last chapter on the Ramsey murder was one of the most interesting chapters of a book I have ever listened to. It’s fun to hear just the facts from a professional with the experience that these people have, and not listen to all the B. S. That comes through the media. I highly recommend this book.
