This book is very fascinating and truly eye-opening. Though I've read a number of books dealing with ontology and the nature of life I've never heard anything like this; 'Plasma exhibits characteristics of a nature we'd attribute to organic life.' Wait, what? Yeah, that's basically what the author states. He makes his case clearly and seems to be extremely well versed in the subject matter. I've got to read more about this idea as I've never heard anybody make this case is such detail.

I don't know, but it seems it's not written for enthusiasts but the casual stoic. Which is fine enough but if you are deep enough to think of yourself as a follower of stoicism, find another book.

Particularly when we appreciate this book was published in 1938! The first (and best) of a trilogy which can easily stand as solo work.

Liked it; didn't love it. I think it lacked the depth of the first seeming to build to a confusing array of gods and planets. That part reminded me of the Star Wars bar scene.

A bit tedious given the brevity of the 1st book. I tried to speed it up, but then I got totally lost. Eventually we end up with talking heads and a magician, so you gotta stick in there. After all that the ending is a rather disappointing. My major issue with the book (and I loved the 1st, liked the second in the series) is the confusing names of like 10 or more characters, which, unfortunately are referred to by different names from time to time.

If you've read his stuff in the past couple/few years; there's not a whole lot new. He does spend an hour or so speaking of his dream type revelation, but here again it seems more confirmation than revelation. That said, I just like to hear him speak his TRUTH. I enjoyed the book..

I found it interesting. It relies heavily on single source testimony but even that can be loosely confirmed through somewhat related other testimony. Then later on in the book, it gets into details about alien races' et. al.. That part was a bit tedious. Still, all and all the first third of the book alone is worth a listen. In fact, though it's out-of-print I invested nearly $100 for a written copy simply for future reference.

The first two books, for sure, are worth the money. The series eventually devolves into a pretty ridiculous story where our hero becomes as indestructible as Jason Bourn or John Wick. Still, for the money, you won't beat this presentation.

Well conceived and presented ideas. I also like that the author read her own work.

It seems the author is just expressing his enthusiasm for his prior book: Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth. I also noticed that although he continually stresses the need for an open-mind when addressing issues of science overall, he frequently and casually refers to 'man-made climate change' without the slightest hint of skepticism or even a simple awareness that the actual cause is far from being a settled science. Just my observation here; but he reminds me of Neil deGrasse Tyson. Loeb has a very 'selective' appreciation of which topics are worthy of further investigation.
