Excellent, heartfelt and inspiring
Revisado: 10-12-22
this book was a real treat.
totally a surprise, one might not really know anything about Nancy outside of the fact that she's the voice of Bart Simpson before going into this but I have seen her pop up on social media lately which is actually what gave me the idea to look for this book when she recommended it on tiktok or some other such app. I got to say I was really pleasantly surprised, it was insightful, heartwarming. Bittersweet, interesting and enlightening all at the same time.
there's an old saying that goes something like "never meet your heroes" I feel like Nancy is really the positive exception to that rule.

Wonderful and nostalgic tale
Revisado: 10-07-22
Morality, right and wrong, Good and evil, extortion, manslaughter, loss, heartache, loneliness, and so much more are all heavy themes for a book that seems at first glance To be a just light tale about a magic spring. I'm. Glad this youth novel. Doesn't shy from heavy concepts,. I remember WHEN I first Rea dit in maybe 5th grade that I felt like. It was important to read to know it and understand itx though. I. COULDN'T really, not then, still. It. Opened my eyes to a wider world.in many ways..
The narrator is talented, but some Of his characterizations felt rather A lot more... I dunno, Sinister than I recall feeling When I read it myself.

Humbling. Sobering. Engrossing
Revisado: 09-16-22
What a heavy book. This story is critically. Important. Philosophical, whimsical at times but brutally honest and poignant about the futility, the cost and the pointlessness of War. Everyone should read this.

A manifesto of business practices for those who sell ideas and advice, The Win Without Pitching Manifesto lays out 12 steps - in the form of proclamations - that owners of creative businesses can take to distance themselves from their competition, regain the high ground in their client relationships and learn to win business without first parting with their thinking or writing lengthy proposals. The 12 proclamations were written to inspire owners of independent creative businesses to rethink how their services are bought and sold.

Whimsical, humorous, informative, & most useful.
Revisado: 08-27-22
Have long been a fan of Adam Savage and his quirky, enthusiasm for making, playing creating and just being. This book is an excellent sneak peak into the mind of someone who is living the dream of being a maker, with very useful insight about shop life and organization, techniques and procedures while maintaining a warm and inviting colloquial tone. His characteristic hyper person is toned, no rather tuned to the perfect pitch for this book, and it was really fun to listen to him speak about things that have so much importance to him. I learned a lot not just about him and making, but about myself as a maker and how I can be better.

A classic for all ages
Revisado: 08-08-22
First read this in grade school, I remember watching the 1990 film a Cry in the Wild later too, and being captivated by Brian and his struggles to survive, and emboldened by his creative spirit and introspection, and elated at his eventual hard won triumphs. Very few stories have captured my imagination as well as this story of personal reflection and perseverance did when I was young.
The audio book was well done and I think the narrator did a wonderful job, his voice and tone fit the story well, my only qualm is the editing and pacing is breakneck, not allowing thoughts to breath the way they feel like they should. I actually had to slow my playback down 10% just so it would feel more natural. Still, a minor gripe, and a great story.

lots to think about
Revisado: 01-24-22
My and I have been working to our improve our relationship for the last several years and lots of things have been helping, one of which is she asked me to read this book, and I have put it off for a long time. F9r many rasons, but mainly because I didn't want to admit I needed help. Not just in my relationship, but with my self worth and loving myself. I finally have recently been listening to it here on Audible, and I really like it. I think everyone should read or listen to it and believe applying it can improve any relationship because it will help us be mentally and emotionally healthier in ourselves.
it will probably take more than one read/listen for the concepts to really settle in, but already I have seen. change in my own behaviors, and I like it.
