Historia
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people-pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs. Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down.

Not my favorite. Awful narrator
Revisado: 06-24-23
This book is so much less interesting than TLH. Lots of dirty talk and too little real romance. And I just couldn’t stand the narrator. She sounds old, not at all what you’d expect from a 28 years old. And her reading is too tearful, way too dramatic. Sorry I spent a credit on this one.

Historia
Ellie Matthews has come to Wychwood-on-Lea to find a new start for her and her daughter Abby. But, life there doesn’t start out as idyllic as she had hoped. While Ellie loves her cute cottage in Willoughby Close, the Yummy Mummies at the primary school seem intent on giving her the cold shoulder, Abby has trouble fitting in, and her boss, Oliver Venables, is both surprisingly sexy and irritatingly inscrutable.

Historia
All of London is abuzz over the imminent arrival of Wulfric Bedwyn, the reclusive, cold-as-ice Duke of Bewcastle, at the most glittering social event of the season. Some whisper of a tragic love affair. Others say he is so aloof and passionless that not even the greatest beauty could capture his attention. But on this dazzling afternoon, one woman did catch the duke's eye - and she was the only female in the room who wasn't even trying.

Best of Balogh
Revisado: 08-01-22
This is Balogh at its best. Previous books in the series have helped the reader/listener to build in their minds the picture of the icy cold, aloof and haughty Duke of Bewcastle. How Christine Derek wins his heart is so amazingly entertaining that I can listen to it again and again.. If you like Regency novels don't miss it.

Lots of fun

Great story. The narrator is superb. Explicit sex scene a bit gross for my taste. But it’s only a chapter. The rest is very funny, very clever with lovable real characters. Loved it!!

Sweet, poignant, funny. All this and more in this scrumptious story of a very innocent young man who gets tangled with a rough Hollywood actor in a most unexpected turn of events.

A Bore!
Revisado: 02-14-19
Very silly story, and really awful narration. The result is one of the worst audible experiences. The narrator is completely out of depth, the voices are affected and artificial, it is difficult to distinguish male from female characters. Try "The Grand Sophy"for a great Heyer experience.
