Better than story 1 but left hanging

I surely enjoyed this much better than Jeremy and Preston. I was sorely missing an “Epilogue: 5 years later.” Rather, it just ended while they were still in college.

A different take on parental abuse

For one, this story is long as hell! The abuse made my stomach churn but created an element that made you understand the struggles. I usually listen to stories twice to catch things I might have missed but I won’t be doing that with this audiobook. A common theme among these gay romance novels is one character is abused/neglected or broken and the other has a loving home. In addition, the “ending” has the main characters having a lot of money and a lot of family/friends. I’m ready for a tragedy.

After listening to the four books in this series, I’d place this one as number 3 out of 4. It was certainly interesting having a transgendered character. I wished there was a scene with Lex and Emery in this story to tie in how inter-connected everyone is. If there was one thing I’d change, I’d switch the voice actors. Luke’s voice was too soft and timid. I needed a more rugged voice like the person who voice Elliott.

Theo and Logan?

This story sounds eerily similar to that of Theo and Logan. The smart, lanky, quiet, gay one instantly being attracted to the muscular jock type. The jock wanting to solve the mystery of the quiet, nerdy guy. Jock falls for nerd hard and bing, bang, boom you have Whit and Caleb. I didn’t like the fact that Whit’s character got so little screen time. This was mostly Caleb’s story (I guess that’s why it’s titled “Whit.” There should be another book titled “Caleb” where Whit speaks most of the time.

Sunshine and Rainbows

The story was… just not believable but I’m here for it. Landon is oblivious and Finn is an idiot. Perfect for each other. My favorite part of this book was the voice actor for Landon. I really enjoyed the way he portrayed Landon’s inner thoughts.

Both a hit and a miss

This book is CLEARLY written by a woman! I thought I’d take a chance by switching to a female author and of course, the sappy, dewy, emotional traits that women usually posses are entombed in the men of the Lewis family. Besides the far-fetched character traits and dialogue, I got wrapped up in the story and plot so much that I would listen to a “next chapter” of Logan and Theo. The voice actor for Logan mispronounced some words here and there… and is the name of the cat “Curie” or “Curry?” Not sure but I give this book a solid 2 out of 5 stars.

Stepbrothers but also not really stepbrothers

I couldn’t get over the voice actor for Caeleb. His voice was too deep and made him seem like an older man. The story itself kind of rushed into the transition from hatred to lust. I was wanting the drama of confronting Russ but was denied that. This story was just okay in comparison to Eli and West’s story.

Honestly, it was worth the wait just to get to the epilogue. I love the closing of everyone’s story but still wanted more detail on the complication between West and Gray. All in all, a satisfying end to an almost 40-hour audiobook.

Psychological Love

Just the right story to show how there’s balance in a relationship. Aside from the intense scenes, the story was a great demonstration of how to care for someone with mental health issues. It just so happened that one of the characters was studying psychology. As always, the epilogue is my favorite part since it closes this story.
