Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

Best book I’ve listened to in over a year.
Revisado: 03-19-25
I’ve listened and read Callie’s books since the very beginning and I have loved almost every single one.
This being her first romantasy, she just blew the genre out of the water. This book is phenomenal.

I hate when I guess the killer right away. It was a good story though. However, I absolutely can not stand Mina’s mom.

Cute cozy with spice
Revisado: 03-30-24
It was different reading/listening to a cozy mystery with actual sex scenes. Not “closed door” hinting around. I loved the plot and it was something I hadn’t come across before as far as the characters go.

Revisado: 03-07-24
This book grabbed my attention and kept it. I’ve been in a bit of a slump and this kept me coming back and listening as late as I could before really needing to go to bed
I also ADORR Therese Plummer and so glad to hear voice again narrating. She’s a badass and so glad she’s performing again

Historia
With a new job I didn’t apply for and an extended family I didn’t know I had - midlife has become somewhat problematic. Gluing ghosts back together is easy compared to my new celestial occupation. The Grim Reaper wants to put a ring on it. Tim wants to be a father. Candy Vargo has lost her damn mind, and Jennifer thinks we’re all sparkly vampires. I’ve been given an impossible task with catastrophic consequences for failure, but it wouldn’t be my midlife without another crisis.

Historia
Caroline Wilton has no time for romance. She’s too busy running her family’s bar to even think about dating. She’s also one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, responsible for keeping the local ghost population in check. But even the most magical of witches can use a shoulder to lean on, which is what happens when Ben Hoult, the handsome doctor she never quite got over, walks back into her life. Ben is a single dad now, and as he and Caroline reconnect, they discover that they both have a knack for helping and protecting the people near and dear to them.

Only Tried because I like the narrator
Revisado: 09-23-23
I saw this listed under the narrators work. I saw the movie, figured I’d try it since I like this narrator. It’s campy, and parts where Abby drove me a little nuts. Not something I would normally read.
In all honesty, I probably wouldn’t have finished it if I was reading the book. I listen when working on projects, gardening, etc. So it passed the time, but I was not “enthralled”

If you like ACOTAR, you will most likely enjoy this book. There are a lot of fantasy books like it out there, and not all are good. This is very well written, and characters are like-able, and well written.

Not nearly as good as the first two books
Revisado: 08-25-20
Total opposite of the previous books. The characters are so unlikable in this one. ALSO, how does an author completely forget the name of one of the characters and totally change the name? It really threw me for a loop when David is now called Daniel?
Ivy is SO very whiny and selfish in this book. I LOVED the first two books, so I was very disappointed.
I started this book on audio, but had to finish after about halfway with the kindle book. Two reasons: With a character the name Faye, and the word "Fae" used so often, it was such a pain in the butt to hear them constantly in the same sentence. Wish that would have been thought through more. Also, the narrator makes Tink sound like a 5 year old idiot kid with a deep voice, yet Ivy says how "sexy" he is. Hard to picture that when he sounds like an inbred moron.
Also, the ending is just completely ludicrous. Makes me wonder, was a ghost writer used?

Historia
Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on Evie's cheeks as she emerges from the darkness of the ship's interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling her dark peacoat tighter to her body, the wind lifts red tendrils of her hair. She walks slowly to the railing overlooking the water. She catches her first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes her shiver in dread. She finds it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it.

Audiobook needs a better engineer
Revisado: 09-07-19
Love the narrator, but the engineer or audio editor left in WAY TOO MUCH swallowing sounds. It became so very annoying, that I finished the book by reading it. (I was interchanging between reading and listening depending on what I was doing)
I loved the previous book, but this one seemed drawn out. Became redundant with the enemies and all the back and forth over and over again.
Will continue to the last book to see how it ends
