Lisa Jewell is the best
Revisado: 02-23-23
Lisa Jewell is great and this is another good story to get lost in. I don’t understand the negative reviews for the narrator. She did a fine job and speaks clear, with a nice tone. Her distinguished vocalization for each character prevents confusion with the dialogue.

Too much sex, not enough substance
Revisado: 09-01-21
This is one started off just fine. The character development genuine and intriguing. Once the sex began it seemed to morph into a shades of grey wanna be with a PSA for spousal abuse. Don't waste a credit.

Best listen this year; credit worthy...
Revisado: 06-04-19
Great writing, narration, and story blended together and swept me away. I rarely have a deep emotional connection to characters in the books I listen to, but did with this book. I love being read to by a narrator such as Ms. McKenzie who seems to disappear in the story so I do not even notice her; she is one with the story.

Better than I thought it would be
Revisado: 02-02-19
I order this book up because my other book ended in the middle of the night. To my delight in astonishment it is not only well written, but an enjoyable and possibly true story. I am a 55-year-old teacher and I can’t read anything with bad writing. It is a great listen.

Historia
A portrait of the artist as a young woman. A novel about not just discovering but inventing oneself. The year is 1995, and email is new. Selin, the daughter of Turkish immigrants, arrives for her freshman year at Harvard. She signs up for classes in subjects she has never heard of, befriends her charismatic and worldly Serbian classmate, Svetlana, and, almost by accident, begins corresponding with Ivan, an older mathematics student from Hungary.

No point: Long, poorly narrated, properly written
Revisado: 06-30-17
Kept waiting for something to happen, it never did. Book about self discovery typically come to some sort of conclusion other than nothing. The author's narration was a poor choice, void of expressing emotion. So bland, I actually rechecked the details to determine if this was a book about an autistic young adult trying to adapt to her world. The only positives: No gratuitous sex, violence, or language, and great to fall asleep to.

A Joy to Find
Revisado: 06-01-17
As a constant audible listener since a severe concussion made it difficult to read for long periods, stumbling upon this series if well written, narrated books will provide the perfect literary experience. Cleaning, walking, working out getting ready for work are great times to be slightly swept away with story.. Not to mention when falling to sleep.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Great! Great! Great!
Revisado: 08-12-16
Not to be forgotten. Many books I listen to slip into oblivion a short while after 'The End'. Ovo will remain embedded in my long term memory. When I notice a grumpy older man in my vicinity in the future I will wonder how he is similar to Ovo and be a bit less frivolous while near him so as to not drive him crazy but simply mutter "hello". Great books change you. This is a great book.

Story -poorly written/ Narration-overly enunciated
Revisado: 06-22-16
I was unable to finish this book or even listen past four chapters I was so distracted by the narrator's over enunciation although she does Express Yourself quite well a little less time on stage and more time recording would have been advised. The writing is not great it's not horrible but it's not great expect more.
