Historia
At the age of four, Dr. Lise Deguire suffered third-degree burns on 65 percent of her body as the result of both maternal and corporate negligence. Against the odds, she lived through the trauma, beginning decades of treatment as a burn survivor. Some chapters of this gripping journey focus on early events, including the story of the fire, her years of painful surgeries in the hospital, social isolation, and bullying.

Awe-inspiring resilience and grace
Revisado: 03-10-21
An incredible page-turning combination of heartbreak and healing. I’m blown away at the way she maintained perspective and dignity in the face of unspeakable adversity and tragedy. A must read.

first half of this book is amazing
Revisado: 04-20-19
very enlightening for me. made sense of the severely negative behavior patterns that have been passed down for over 100 years in my family. the book was too long. the last half was redundant. the first half was eye opening.
