This book really digs into the meanings and important of different foods from biblical times and, just as with her other book "Scouting The Divine" relates it all to modern times. My favorite part is the story of Matza. She also includes recipes and talks about how to bring it all to the table for community and fellowship.

Listened to this book in only 3 days. Fascinating and heartbreaking. This book is such an eye opener to what children go through without no one knowing. It breaks down stereotypes of how children/teens are supposed to look and act like. The book doesn't shy away from the nitty gritty. Even though the book is fiction, it is based off of a true story of a girl who went through the trenches and made it out on top. Highly recommend. Also, to the author, thank you for sharing your story. I work with youth students, and your insight gives advice as to how to handle when students come forward with things like this. Thank you again.
