Don’t really know how I feel

I don’t really know how I feel about the book. I didn’t particularly like any of the characters. They all got on my nerves in different ways. I did like the narrators, I thought they did a good job with all the different voices and accents. I started the sequel and about 10 minutes in had to refund the title because I could not take the narrators.

I really loved this story, it was so much better and more interesting than I expected. The two different narrators for Evelyn were annoying and didn’t make sense to me. The way Monique’s narrator sounded annoyed me as well. This is one book that I think I might have enjoyed more reading vs the audiobook. But the story is amazing and I truly enjoyed it.

This was actually hard to finish. I almost gave up and just stopped. There was nothing I haven’t already heard. She has done so much press lately that I have heard all of her stories so there was nothing new.

Another one!

This makes the fourth booked I’ve read and LOVED by Liane. I’m honestly confused by the negative reviews. This, like the others, was a free read. All the characters were interesting and fully developed. I also liked the narrator, she did a great job with the different accents. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading another Liane Moriarty book.

Can’t wait for part 3

I really enjoyed this book. Olivia got on my nerves, but she got on my nerves in the first book, but it was still very well written. I LOVED the twist with her mom and dad. I really enjoyed all of the characters and all the subplots within the story. I can’t wait for the next one.

Loved the stores, hated the narrator

I loved this book, but it was difficult to get thought because of the narrator’s voice. Her voice annoyed me, but hearing her attempt a man with a British accent and a man with a New Orleans accent was almost too much for me.

This could have been a really interesting read. The plot line about the store incident had nothing to do with the “plot” of this book. I know the author is Black, but this book is written as if she has never encountered a single Black person in her life. The dialogue was so cringey. It’s like the author watched a bunch of early 2000s movies and Tyler Perry movies to figure out how Black people speak. Also, Alix started off as such an interesting character and quickly devolved into a housewife that was obsessed with her babysitter and had developed a fetish for Black women. It was just cringey.

I hated the ending

Nella was one of the most annoying, aggravating characters I’ve ever come across. She was pathetic, meek and indecisive. I enjoyed the book until the end. The ending felt rushed and unfinished.

The narrator’s voice

The narrator’s voice is an absolute no for me. I personally cannot take this voice. At all. And it’s making it very difficult to continue listening.
