Listened to this story in one day. It was free on audible and I’m so glad I took a chance. Super sweet and grabbed my heart until the end.

I enjoyed the storyline and John’s narration. Was glad there were only a few chapters with the female narration. Can’t remember her name but I didn’t care for her voice. I didn’t care for Joshua’s random outbursts in the first half. I realize sometimes ptsd causes behavior like this but it seemed a bit cheesy to me at times. Also cheese and quite annoying was the number of times they said each other’s names. Way too much. And the nickname was especially annoying after the 200th time. As was her constant whining please Joshua please. Less of those things would have made this a higher star rating. And the end should’ve wrapped up faster after the resolution. Glad it was a free listen.

I downloaded this because I love Teddy Hamilton’s voice but I really loved the story. I loved how honest and raw it was and how each of them had done things they needed to deal with. Beautiful.

I listened as I read and truly loved the suspense and trying to figure out what was happening. It held my attention to the end and had a very exciting and heart wrenching climax!
My only complaints are really personal preference. The first is that I just didn’t care for Vanessa Johansson’s voice. It just wasn’t right in my head. But I loved Sebastian York’s voice. Perfection.
The other issue is that they didn’t pronounce Nevada the way Nevadans do. I’m a native Texan but I hear people complain all the time about how people say Nevada wrong. Given that this is the second book I’ve read of Mia’s that takes place here (NV), it seems strange to me the narrators wouldn’t pronounce it right.
Otherwise, haha, super loved it!

Quick and easy read/listen. Love it!

I listened to this in less then 24 hours. Only stopping late last night… or rather passing out and then having to go back a few chapters this morning.

I loved this story. Super sweet and rugged all the heart strings. But I also really loved the spotlight on women in male dominated careers. Love how she handled Allie being objectified and treated so horribly by some men in the industry. And the media. Ugh. I’m not necessarily one of those women-can-do-anything-a-man-can-do people… but I really hate when it’s assumed a woman can’t do something simply because she’s a woman or because she’s beautiful or young. This one goes out to all the fierce women out there!

Genius

This story is pure genius. The way Julie Soto weaves in such emotion with music you can almost hear is truly inspiring. The feelings you experience as you listen to her descriptions of the music and every interaction between Alex and Gwen are tangible. This story played out like a movie in my head with not a hole to be found. I’m not a fan of listening to stories read in third person past, but still… I loved it. Looking forward to more from Julie Soto.

Great stand alone, different from their other stories

Having read everything these two talented writers have published, I was excited for this one as well! When I saw Olivia King was narrating, honestly I was a bit perturbed as I couldn’t imagine how they could keep using the same voice for their stories and now in a totally different world. But I was totally wrong to worry! She was fabulous and I love the story even more after listening to her narration. Still a fan! Looking forward to more from them and just downloaded the first book in the Forgotten Kingdoms series. All standalone by different authors!

So love this world!

I was so happy to get Davin’s story! And I love how these two wove his and Galina’s story together and through the previous stories so seamlessly. Lightbulbs just flicker to life as you read/listen and you’re like, “ohhh that’s what he was doing while Rowan was off doing …” Mote than that, I just love Davin’s story and I loved getting to know him better. The truth behind his facade. The turmoil Galina (and likely all women in her world) has gone through to cause her to make the choices and assumptions she makes with Davin… and then watching their story unfold is so hard because you just want to scream at them sometimes. But it’s so beautiful!

Throwing the bonus chapters in multiple POVs at the end from other characters really was the icing on the cake too!
Ok but no spoilers for this or other books in this world, though!

Overall, this is one of my favorite world of all time. I never tire of it so my heart is happy to have everyone’s stories! I hope they’re not finished yet! Only issue though…as much as I LOVE the voices they choose, I just found it so odd for Galina’s speaking and narration accents to be completely different. Not sure what that’s about. Otherwise, love , love, love. Adam Golds voice is honey and gravel and oh so yum.
