Historia
We all know, and governments advise, that losing weight is just a matter of burning more calories than we consume. Here's the thing, however, that most people have no idea about: All of the calorie counts that you see everywhere today are wrong. In Why Calories Don't Count, Dr. Giles Yeo, obesity researcher at Cambridge University, challenges the conventional model and demonstrates that all calories are not created equal.

Great but wish it had the PDF
Revisado: 05-10-22
this book was great to help me recontextualize my thoughts around food. I just wish it actually came with the PDF. That's my only complaint. I loved the reading. It made it highly enjoyable.

It’s summer 1977 and closeted lesbian Tammy Larson can’t be herself anywhere. Not at her strict Christian high school, not at her conservative Orange County church and certainly not at home, where her ultrareligious aunt relentlessly organizes antigay political campaigns. loved it
Revisado: 07-25-21
Books that show me what it is like to live in the past are amazing. As a product of all the past struggle I love learning about our queer history and this book does a really good job of weaving a captivating love story into it.

Ditch White Fragility and Read This Instead!
Revisado: 07-12-20
What sets this book apart is it has clear ideas for future anti-racist action! This is contrasted with the personal/egoist actions suggested in White Fragility. Basically this book explains to what people what we need to do after we realize we are fragile, and and for BIPOC it helps them exist and raise children in the current racist atmosphere. Clearly written and spoken by the author! The way she breaks down and scaffolds concepts shows she has been an educator for years!

Sadly the book pulls the mentally ill violent trope and that unfortunate. Good otherwise.
