Good but not great

Mary Calmes is one of my favorite authors. While I liked this book, it didn’t resonate with me like her books usually do. As soon as they realize they’re in love, the bulk of the story is just them talking about the same things over and over. There wasn’t any angst at all and even the Marshall side of things was lackluster. I liked their chemistry, I just think it needed more.

Great chemistry

I loved the chemistry between Stone and Bambi. The story is excellent but way too long. I feel like the angst portion went on and on. The spice level is hot. The narrators were new to me and did an excellent job.

Good read

I loved the book and I loved the characters. The steam level is off the charts. However, I have to agree with the previous reviewer about the parents. That part of the storyline just did not work for me. It makes no sense that the mother doesn’t care enough to even make sure the kids get enough food, or are safe, but she’s going to stand up for their relationship. Then the father changing his mind I just didn’t buy that portion of the story. I really loved Ash and Jules though.

Wanted More

The story left me frustrated. The book is written very well and I was completely invested in the characters, however I felt too much of the story was in the past instead of the present. The author spent so much time on the issues from the past and then when it got to the present storyline it was written almost as a recap. I wanted more to the ending.

Great Series

This was another great book in the series! I really loved Gannon and although I would have liked more Gannon and Alden moments, I enjoyed this and would definitely recommend.

Not what I expected

This book was not at all what I expected. It was very odd and that the backstory was the primary focus and the real romance was almost an afterthought. The relationship between Dylan and Shane had so much time and build up to it, that it felt like the main story. The relationship between Dylan and Connor seems like an afterthought instead of the main focus of the story. I believed the relationship between Dylan and Shane much more than the relationship between Dylan and Connor. For me it just seemed like part two was rushed and there wasn’t enough build up to the relationship. I I will say this is one of the few books that have ever made me cry. I think this would have worked better if these had been two separate books as part of a duet. As always Sean Crisden is fantastic.

Wow!!

This book is absolutely amazing. It is hands down one of the best m/m romance books I’ve ever experienced. The narration IS the best narration I’ve ever experienced. I mean, just Wow! Talk about hot. Shane and Joe have the sexiest voices. If that weren’t enough, the chemistry and growing relationship between Fitz and Dean is captivating and tantalizing. I highly recommend this book. I know I will be listening to it over and over again.

What happened?

This book was such a disappointment. It felt like a completely different couple from book one. So much story was left unfinished and then to add in the cheating and third lover was just so left field. The violence within the relationship went too far and I lost the love I had for this couple in the first book. If you read book one I recommend stopping there. This one is a wreck.
