I have been playing the bagpipes on and off for more than 20 years. I never felt that I got any better. However, through listening to this book and joining Piper’s Dojo, my playing has greatly improved. I am hoping for many more years of bagpiping success. Thanks Andrew!

Historia
What is Western Civilization? According to Professor Noble, it is "much more than human and political geography," encompassing myriad forms of political and institutional structures - from monarchies to participatory republics - and its own traditions of political discourse. It involves choices about who gets to participate in any given society and the ways in which societies have resolved the tension between individual self-interest and the common good.

Fantastic Course
Revisado: 07-18-22
This is a great course that really gives a complete story of history. While it does not go into detail in each specific age, you definitely get a general understanding of the Foundation of Western Civilization in these lectures. The professor is fun to listen to and engaging. If you are even courteous about world history, you will love this course.

Between 1861 and 1865, the clash of the greatest armies the Western hemisphere had ever seen turned small towns, little-known streams, and obscure meadows in the American countryside into names we will always remember. In those great battles, those streams ran red with blood-and the United States was truly born.

Historia
The enduring influence of the Catholic Church has many sources, but in the first half of the 19th century, the foundations upon which the church had rested were shaken. For many people, liberalism in the guise of liberty, equality, and fraternity was the quintessence of the evils that shook those foundations. At the Vatican Council of 1869-1870, the church made an effort to set things right by defining the doctrine of papal infallibility. Author John W. O'Malley draws us into the bitter controversies over papal infallibility that at one point seemed destined to rend the church in two.

Amazing Course
Revisado: 12-31-19
As an historian and lover of the Catholic Church, I really enjoyed these lectures. It helped me to better understand Christ’s Church and the trials and tribulations that it has weathered throughout 2000 years of history. Dr. Cook explains the good with the bad with each lecture. All the lectures are labeled, so if there is a topic you want to go back and listen to, it is easy to do.

Historia
In The Bible Is a Catholic Book, Jimmy Akin shows how the Bible cannot exist apart from the church. In its origins and its formulation, in the truths it contains, in its careful preservation over the centuries, and in the prayerful study and elucidation of its mysteries, Scripture is inseparable from Catholicism. This is fitting, since both come from God for our salvation. If you're a Catholic who sometimes gets intimidated by the Bible, The Bible Is a Catholic Book will help you better understand and take pride in this gift that God gave the world through the church.
