Historia
After surviving the trials of Freedom, Lucius enters the next stage of the military's super soldier creation scheme. Medieval weaponry and gritty fantasy combat are a thing of the past. He must bring what he's learned to the modern battlefield. Fighting futuristic tech isn't his only challenge. He'll go head-to-head against Genesis participants—enlisted military personnel who unlocked their psionics a year before Freedom began. Will his emerging psionic abilities and hard-earned experience be enough?

Updating my bad review
Revisado: 03-13-23
I am struggling to get through this book. Besides the disjointed combat system which started to lose me in the last book I am now having difficulties dealing with the touchy feely babble that has been continuously going on in the first third of this book. the characters spend a ton of time almost crying over others who are killed in simulated not real simulated battle. I will probably listen to the book until it's completion as I did purchase it and I do hope it gets better. by the way essentially just got to the first battle a few hours into the book after listening to a lot of talk about how the characters feel about each other and some shopping. I just don't get the five star reviews they blow my mind.
Now the updated bad review. Is this twilight? You know the crappy vampire lifetime movie network series! When this author decides to make the next Underworld I hope he does not make that suck also.

Made it to book 3 of a confused series
Revisado: 09-22-22
I do not write many reviews. I have about 500 audio books from Audible and this is one of the few series I reviewed. This series is crazy. Is it a sci fi is it fantasy?? By book three you will say who cares. By the end of two you already want to bail but I stuck it out. It is a book where you really don't care about any characters, not even the main ones, and this is book three! The gaming system gives no consequences for dying, the only apparent penalty is you may lose your gear! One player is respawned about five times before he decides he cannot beat the other character and he just walks away after gathering his gear. For some reason though everyone worries about dying and even going as far as to question the morality of killing other players in the GAME! At one point the players even discuss that there should be legal ramifications of people they considered acting inhumanely in the game. Legal action about what is done in a virtual reality game, what a joke! A significant percentage of the book is a regurgitation of stats and the main character training against NPC in a training facility, again who cares. There was a review posted earlier about the establishment of a government so I will not go into that garbage in the book, but I would recommend looking at that review. Also, there is no bonding time between characters. When they do come together to fight an engagement you would think are buds who hang out every day. I do not want to waste more of my time with this any longer. I love this author's other series, but this will be the last book in this series that I get.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

Really good. It was a nice change to see a Bond story from the view of someone other than Bond himself.

If you enjoy the original Bond books you will definitely enjoy this. I recomend it to fill your Fleming fix. This is definitely one of the post Fleming books that will pull you in and make you think you are listening to the Bond of old.

Excellent story and Narration
Revisado: 08-16-12
Where does The Blade Itself rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Very highly
What other book might you compare The Blade Itself to and why?
At the present none but a few movie types come to mind. Logen is a Clint Eastwood or more precise a Josey Wales type and Glokta a Peter Lorre type. All the other characters fall in between but are very entertaining.
What does Steven Pacey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Excellent use of voices both male and female.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I usually only listen in the car but I do find myself with the ear buds in at the house.
Any additional comments?
Excellent book. Already started the second of the series and that is looking great also.
