Outstanding
Revisado: 10-06-23
Great performance and detailed back story to a memorable character and Cardassian society. What made Garak such an intriguing character was his ability to weave a story and this story was worthy. Also so happy Andrew Robinson narrated bc he did such a great job bringing that character to life that I don’t think anyone else could have done as well. There is a reason this gets a 5 star review. So much content it felt like a bonus season!

Interesting genre time bending tale
Revisado: 09-22-22
Ultimately a story of what it is to be a person. Interesting way to mix sci-fi and historical storytelling. Narrator did a great job especially conveying main character’s conflicts. I do suggest patience because there is quite a bit of necessary repetition. I listened to this in half hour spurts going to and from work and that kept it fresh for me

Intriguing from start to finish
Revisado: 05-27-22
This reminded me of the Lost Fleet series and the Honor Harrington series. While there are some stereotypical characters like moronic commanders and selfish politicians there are other novel characters I didn’t expect and some questionable decisions by characters that again surprised me but not in a bad way. I thought narrator was great at capturing hero’s character as a “gentleman”. The villains are pretty evil.

Great sci-fi take on baseball
Revisado: 12-04-21
Great narrator. Funny, dark and fast paced. Many baseball references though not about baseball. Actually book and narrator did a good job on baseball play by play so that it all worked smoothly in the overall detective story. Explored characters well. Several twists I didn’t expect.

Historia
Bruce Lee is a cultural icon, renowned the world over for his martial arts and film legacy. But Lee was also a deeply philosophical thinker, learning at an early age that martial arts are more than just an exercise in physical discipline - they are an apt metaphor for living a fully realized life. Now, in Be Water, My Friend, Lee’s daughter, Shannon, shares the concepts at the core of his philosophies, showing how they can serve as tools of personal growth and self-actualization.

The narrator did a great job. Her pace and tone were perfect. Insightful without preaching. Did not have to be a Bruce Lee fan to enjoy but the insight into some of his movie experiences and some movie quotes explained were a bonus.

Having been interested in the life of Cicero and read several books I was very impressed with this audio book
I don’t feel that the author took many liberties and I thought the narration was outstanding
One of the best books I listened to this year
And yes- very relevant to current politics - clearly many lessons that haven’t yet been learned
