Historia
The career of Pericles, the leading Athenian politician and general from c. 450 to 429 B.C., is a prism through which to view the "Golden Age" of Greece, a brief but remarkable era when Athens experienced a cultural flowering of extraordinary power and importance for Western culture. These 24 stimulating lectures present a well-rounded portrait of almost every aspect of Athenian life during the Golden Age.

Classical Greek social history at it's finest. I could not recommend this audiobook more highly.

Historia
Witness the "works and wonders" of the ancient world through the eyes of its first great historian in this sparkling series of 24 lectures from a much-honored teacher and classical scholar.Herodotus (c. 484-420 B.C.E.) was a Greek who was born in what is now the modern Turkish resort town of Bodrum and who died, so tradition says, in the south of Italy. In between, his tirelessly inquiring mind took him from one corner of the known world to another.

Excellent

Elizabeth Vandiver is a wonderful instructor, and it is fortunate that so many of her courses are available online for Audible Plus members. By chance, I picked up a few. Now I've listened to almost her entire catalog, and this one is particularly fantastic. Give it a listen if you care about either classical Greece or the emergence of history as a genre. You won't be disappointed!
