I listened to this book immediately after finishing book 2, which I think definitely colors my opinion here. I would recommend letting things cool a little for you between book 2 and 3, otherwise you’ll hear some of the same scenes you’ve just experienced. There were a lot of flashbacks throughout this book that referenced things from both of the first two books. Those earlier scenes felt absolutely vital to where the story was going, but for me this was a slight negative. I also would've liked to see it be a bit longer, considering both of the first two were over 8 hours, but that's personal preference and had no bearing on the rating I gave this book.
With that said, the narration was once again fantastic. I feel like I’m repeating myself in the reviews from book to book in this series, but this type of story is absolutely not my usual preference. I only read the first one and didn’t care to continue them when I found out there was more to follow. That would have been a mistake, and I’m glad that I gave the audio a chance because I definitely see myself listening to this whole series again in the future.
All told, this book nicely wraps up the series enough that if it ended here I’d be happy. At the same time there were enough little trails left open that could easily continue the story, and I can’t wait to find out if we get to see more of Luce and Brooke in the future. Definitely recommend.

A continuation that's definitely kept my interest!

Once again I enjoyed the narration immensely, it made a book that I’d otherwise have passed on into something that I will definitely be listening to again. As with the first book, this style of book really isn’t to my tastes while reading. Maybe I can’t summon up the appropriate suspense in my mind that action scenes require. Having it read by such a talented narrator supplies all of the necessary suspense that allowed me to get into the story.
I definitely recommend this one for a couple of reasons, but mostly because if a narration can change my initial opinion of a series, I simply have to recommend others try it whether they're already fans or not.

Audio changed my enjoyment for the better.
Revisado: 11-21-19
I read this book about five years ago, then set it down and didn’t really think about it again. I never continued the story, and truthfully I probably never would have if I hadn’t listened to the audiobook. The story is definitely solid but, for a person like myself who isn’t usually captured by drama and primarily reads romance books, somewhat forgettable. That’s not a criticism of the book but a mismatch in preference.
The audiobook absolutely changed that for me. This was my first time listening to a full book from this narrator, but the delivery of the story completely enraptured me. I found myself listening to it when I would normally not even bother turning it on, but grabbing ten more minutes of listening was worth not having to wait another few hours. The cadence of her voice and the different voices she uses for each character has made me instantly a fan, and I will be looking into the other books she’s narrated.
This book involves bondage (as well as other BDSM themes), as it’s an important part of some of the characters’ lives, and I think it was done tastefully and respectfully. I also felt that the relationship between each of the characters - and not just the romantic ones - felt genuine and real. Sometimes relationships shift quickly and unexpectedly, especially when life is full of intensity as it is for most of these characters, and that shift was represented well.
Some of the scenes were quite graphic and gritty, but it fit the story very well. I won't say that this book has made me a fan of drama or action stories, but I was able to enjoy the narration of it better than I'd previously enjoyed the written version. Maybe that's just my own tastes changing over time, or maybe hearing it out loud made all the difference - you can judge that for yourself when you listen to it.
As soon as the last few lines of this book were delivered I was already downloading the second book, which I’d previously ignored completely. Sometimes experiencing a story in a different media is all it takes to completely change how much a person enjoys the story, and for me this is that story. I would casually recommend the book itself, but I strongly recommend the audio version.

Renny James thought she was falling in love with her boss. Then she met his wife. Renny was totally unprepared for the beauty and charisma of Vivian Rockmore. The electricity between the two women was undeniable, but too many obstacles stood between them.

A pleasant experience.
Revisado: 03-30-19
This was the first Erin Wade book I've either read or listened to, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. For the first forty-five minutes I couldn't figure out what was going on. I wasn't enjoying the narrator's voice for Renny, she just seemed so childish to me. I didn't like the pacing through the beginning, either; I felt like I'd missed something because of how abrupt some of the time-jumps were while setting up Renny's background.
But then I felt like the book really hit it's stride, and I was completely hooked. I realized why Renny came across the way she did - for all of the horrible things she'd fought through in her life, she truly was a child in some ways because she lost out on some important experiences and feelings while she was younger. I can completely relate to that, and when I finally recognized what was going on it changed my perception of the book entirely. The sometimes-abrupt jumps were understandable, as well, because there was some necessary information that really showed who Renny James is as a person.
The narration was enjoyable, and for the most part the characters were easily distinguishable from each other. During certain scenes with two women or two men it could get a little confusing as to which one was speaking, but overall it was very good work.
I can't say that the ending took me completely by surprise; I'd guessed most of what was coming well before the conclusion. There were certainly surprises, though, and I was pleased that I didn't catch on to everything right away.
In the end I'm very glad I listened to this book. I would recommend it to others, and I will certainly be looking at more of Erin Wade's work in the future, both in print and on audio.

Historia
Susanne Wolff isn't thrilled when her mother sends her all the way across the country to Freiburg to save her uncle's stationery store from bankruptcy. Freiburg is too provincial for her taste, and besides, pen and paper are outdated anyway. Anja Lamm, Paper Love's only full-time employee, takes an instant dislike to the arrogant, digital-loving snob who's supposed to be her temporary boss. But thanks to a meddling cat, a business trip to a stationery fair, and an armada of origami boats, Anja soon starts to see beneath Susanne's aloof exterior.

Loved everything about this
Revisado: 12-09-18
This was my first time listening to a book read by Abby Craden, and while I enjoyed her voice overall it was the voice she gave to Susanne that truly won me over. It was an absolutely lovely voice, very sweet despite her usually professional demeanor. I'll definitely be looking into other books that have her reading them.
I did sometimes have trouble figuring out when a character was actually speaking and when they were thinking to themselves, but I'm starting to think that's simply the nature of audiobooks and has nothing to do with the reader.
As I expect from Jae by this point, the book itself was wonderful. Since we get to experience each character's thoughts separately, I was truly able to see the slow burn that developed between them and it was very charming, especially seeing it from Anja's side of things. It was an absolute delight to be able to explore such a wonderful city as Freiburg.
