No skill is more important in today's world than being able to think about, understand, and act on information in an effective and responsible way. What's more, at no point in human history have we had access to so much information, with such relative ease, as we do in the 21st century. But because misinformation out there has increased as well, critical thinking is more important than ever. These 24 rewarding lectures equip you with the knowledge and techniques you need to become a savvier, sharper critical thinker in your professional and personal life.

More of Steve Novella please. Wonderfully concise, yet expansive in approach and execution. Perhaps a good direction to go after this would be, how to break down arguments and critique them.

Requied Reading
Revisado: 10-26-21
Dr. Sheena Mason's Theory of Racelessness references Albert Murray in many ways, one of which is the belief that Racialized Black and White folks are, for the most part, living the same lives. The biggest difference is when you ignore history, or choose to omit it.
Great book and I'll be buying a physical copy soon.

According to Max Disher, an ambitious young black man in 1930s New York, someone of his race has only three alternatives: "Get out, get white, or get along." Incapable of getting out and unhappy with getting along, Max leaps at the remaining possibility. Thanks to a certain Dr. Junius Crookman and his mysterious process, Max and other eager clients develop bleached skin that permits them to enter previously forbidden territory. What they discover in white society, however, gives them second thoughts.

Into Williams's childhood home-a one-story ranch house-his father crammed more books than the local library could hold. "Pappy" used some of these volumes to run an academic prep service; the rest he used in his unending pursuit of wisdom. His son's pursuits were quite different: "money, hoes, and clothes."

Revisado: 10-18-21
As a racialized white person, I don't know what to say. His insight, though traveling through the lens of the Racialized Black experience, helped me to review how I think about my own self and the ways in which I limit myself because of the labels and signs we hang on ourselves. I'll be buying the paper version of this book ASAP.

Historia
Half of all marriages end. Unfortunately, about 20% of divorces are high-conflict, involving frequent visits to court, allegations of abuse, and chronic disagreements regarding parenting schedules. In response to this conflict, some children become aligned with one parent against the other - even a parent who has done nothing to warrant the hostile rejection of their formerly loving children. These parents are on a painful journey with an uncertain outcome. Surviving Parental Alienation fills the tremendous need for concrete help for these parents.

I cannot express how important this book and it's companions in this field are. As a father who's been a victim of parental alienation by my ex wife, and then when my second wife attempted it, it gave me the tools and courage not to just fight it, but also to help me be a better parent too. More people need to realize how pervasive and damaging these alienaters are, to everyone, including society in large. Great book.

The Myth of Male Power

Historia
For the audio book version, Dr. Warren Farrell personally rewrote the highlights of The Myth of Male Power as a dialogue. The questions are similar to what others will ask you when you discuss these issues. You’ll have Dr. Farrell’s best answers. The Myth of Male Power helps each family member understand that genuine power is neither status nor money, but “control over one's life.” He documents that virtually every society that has survived has done so by persuading its sons to be disposable--whether in war or in work; and therefore indirectly as dads. And disposability is not power. Considered the Bible of men's studies—yet highly empathetic to women (Dr. Farrell was repeatedly elected to the Board of the National Organization for Women in NYC)-- the meticulously researched The Myth of Male Power takes the listener on a captivating journey around the world, throughout history, biology, the Bible, the law, and everyday life, challenging every currently-held assumption about men, women and the family.

IT IS NOT THE BOOK. ITS A REVIEW
Revisado: 09-07-21
I was super frustrated that this wasn't the book. I didn't see anywhere where it said it was just a review. I read the paper version of this book and loved it so much that I wanted to have it in audio format. very bummed that I spent a whole credit on things the book could've explained.

Historia
Since the publication of the first edition of Critical Race Theory in 2001, the United States has lived through two economic downturns, an outbreak of terrorism, and the onset of an epidemic of hate directed against immigrants, especially undocumented Latinos and Middle Eastern people. On a more hopeful note, the country elected and re-elected its first black president and has witnessed the impressive advance of gay rights. Critical Race Theory is essential for understanding developments in this burgeoning field, which has spread to other disciplines and countries.

The Darwin award of bad ideas
Revisado: 07-01-21
I've read a lot of philosophy and I gotta say, this was so obtuse and dishonest, it's difficult where to start. it constantly attempts toanipulate it's reader rather than explain ANYTHING out, and then continues to bash your head in with more nonsensical idiocy.
Almost no one wants to see racism prevail, yet this book implies it's everywhere, at every level of society.
Horrible. just....horrible.

Historia
The social justice creed is shaping our every daily interaction. It influences how businesses structure themselves. It is altering how employers and employees interrelate. It has utterly transformed academia. It is remaking our politics with alarming swiftness. And there are consequences for those who transgress against the tenets of social justice and the self-appointed inquisitors who enforce its maxims. Noah Rothman deconstructs today's out-of-control social justice movement and the lasting damage it has had on American politics, culture, and education and our nation's future.

I don't know what to say.
Revisado: 06-14-21
Regardless of the author's grasp of English, he writes in such a way that there's no beating around the bush. To the story, it boggles the mind. It's not clear why, after story's such as his, people could support let alone advocate Marxism on any form.
This story broke my heart and I will remember it always.
