Not nearly as bad as what the haters indicated
Revisado: 02-06-24
While the story was lacking in many of the small but important details we're used to getting in a Clancy novel, it was still a decent story. I felt like there were several times I had to go back and listen to the previous 10 minutes or so because it seemed like the author just assumed the reader would follow his train of thought without actually penning it. Those little details.
Definitely not Clancy, or even Greaney, and it seemed more like an abridged novel with so little detail in many places. All in all it wasn't bad enough to return though. And Brick was excellent as always.

As Good as Baldacci
Revisado: 07-18-23
Not since finding The Camel Club By: David Baldacci in 2007 have I been this impressed with an author. I know that they both write along different subject lines, but I'm talking about how the author grabs you and makes you listen.
This is the second of Jack Carr's books that I've gotten into, barely an hour into this one, and I can't put it down / turn it off. I put off buying his first book for a long time because I listen to certain authors and still had plenty to listen to from my normal choices. But I'm sure glad I finally did because I now have another author to look forward to, and the narrator is a perfect fit for Reece.
While Jack Carr's background, thank you for your service, helps make the technical side of the story flow, it's his story-telling that really makes these a must-read / listen. Thank you so much for pursuing your dream to write, and I look forward to listening to the continuing saga of Commander Reece.

Did Ted Bell Write This?
Revisado: 05-26-21
This is only the second Audible book out of hundreds listened to over the years that I had to stop listening to. The new narrator is horrible, and the story...
Please tell me how an operator of Hawke's caliber, first crashes through the door, then allows himself to be attacked from behind while knowing that Smith is in the house before even trying to find the threat? I know he was concerned for his friend, but to stand there with his back turned just waiting to be killed... just not plausible.
The first 10 books kept my attention and I enjoyed them all, but this is definitely a zero. And I can't comment on Stokely because I couldn't take it long enough to get to that part.
Maybe this was done by a ghostwriter

Story maybe...
Revisado: 10-22-19
While the story might have been a bit better, the narrator almost made it unbearable. If it weren't for the fact I kept waiting for the story to get better I would have stopped listening.

Ryan Kealey has no doubt that the forces seeking to tip this teetering world into chaos are just getting better. Better equipped, better organized, and, most terrifying of all, more patient. And despite all the ELINT, the all-seeing electronic intelligence gathered at Langley, nothing stops a devastating attack from ripping through the heart of San Antonio, Texas.

Very annoyed
Revisado: 01-11-17
Would you listen to Threatcon Delta again? Why?
No, I almost turned it off because the narrator was so annoying. He sound like he was on the edge of his seat and so excited to be narrating
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No, but it may have been the terrible performance. I have enjoyed the previous books in this series.
Would you be willing to try another one of David Ledoux’s performances?
NO
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I normally hate to stop listening but in the case of this performance it was only my desire to hear the end of the story that kept me turning it back on everyday
Any additional comments?
I have listened to over 250 audio books, some of them multiple times and have never taken the time to write a review before. I noticed that this seemed to be an in-house production of some sort and that may have been the problem, choosing a less than top notch story teller. I hope this is not the shape of things to come
