Common Sense... Please

This sounded like a great listen. I was surprised at how many things were not thought all the way through. After reading the bio of the author I have to wonder how good of a survivalist she is when in her book she overlooks simple things. I thought oh maybe the book was released years ago to find out it was released in 2020.
I have to ask, how many of you have your cell charging cords in your car, and if you do not have them would you get one as soon as possible if you had a working car so you could keep your phone charge? Especially if your only way to connect with family is through your cell phone (which brings up another issue but not going there.). At no point does anyone think to grab a cell phone cord while at a store, gas station, or even in a home.
The story feels pushed and this leaves holes and jumps in the storyline. If you are thinking of this for a young ready then maybe it is ok. But overall I feel that it lacks some of the true grit and common sense that I want from a book with this type of story line.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The person reading this book is very slow, and the story line is very slow moving.
A different reader may have been better, but over all the story line just moves very slow.
Would you ever listen to anything by Shaun Harbinger again?
Maybe... if the story line is good I might give it a try.. but only on my library check out.. I would not purchase another book from this author.
Would you be willing to try another one of Brian Grey’s performances?
No, he reads to slow and without emotion.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Rain?
I am not sure because I could not make it all the way threw the book...

I wish I could have my money back, my time back.. this was really bad.
