Historia
On a planet where life is cheap, in a city built on corruption, very few things are considered holy. The Landing Site is one of them. The remains of the century-old habitat pod—which delivered the colonists to the only barely habitable place on the cruel world of Croatoan—has become a monument to the hardscrabble people who somehow survived the unsurvivable. So when blood is shed on that sacred ground, it’s seen as an attack against the entire colony.

Wow. Great story
Revisado: 01-16-23
Larry does it again proving he is a master of many genres and of the most difficult of things short stories. He returns to characters we met in the first audible original. A solid hook a great take on a dystopian sci fi planet as a back drop. A gritty cop story. And many places to expand if he wants. You will enjoy

Epic Fantasy at its Finest
Revisado: 10-20-19
In book 9 we go on a tangent and find out what happened to some of the others while book 8 took place. Mr. Mancour writes a dazzling and intricate story as with all the previous works this book ties back to elements laid down in book 1 and put clues in our path for what is coming in future books. Mr Lee delivers a perfect telling and i can not wait for book 10 and 11, unfortunately at this time book 11 is the most recently published and i don't know when we might expect book 12

Great Mil SF Space Opera and strategy
Revisado: 10-20-19
This is the final book in the Castle Federation series.
Unlike many works in this genre there is no Deus Ex Machina,
All six books tell a great story and here at the end of the series we get great space battles, epic politics, and a look at why Sun Tzu was right. Know your enemy. Over the series you come to know the characters, You know the stakes. And the final lines of the book leave us begging Mr Stewart to go forth and write more in this universe even though Kyle Roberts story is complete

About Time! Epic Fantasy inside
Revisado: 03-29-12
If you could sum up Oath of Swords in three words, what would they be?
Awesome Epic Fantasy
What did you like best about this story?
I love that David (The Mad Wizard Weber, or MWW) writes fantastic fantasy as well as scifi. The use of gods in this universe is very well done. The maigc systems are to MWW done in a way that is logical and has rules, you can wave a hand and destroy a world without the right tools, and magic is never used as a crutch.
The Bloody Hand is born in this novel folks, and if you are a fan of Elizabeth Moon's Fantasy you will enjoy this story
What about Nick Sullivan’s performance did you like?
David has always said that Bahzel's accent is irish, and he hits it very well
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The argument between Bahzel and Tomanik is one of my favorite parts of this story, and of course the very end but no spoilers i think
Any additional comments?
These books are alot of fun MWW has always said that these first 4 books (Oath f Swords, War God's Own, Windrider's Oath, and Warmaid's Choice[forthcoming]) are the basic backdrop on which is

All is not well in the Eight Kingdoms. In Lyonya, King Kieri is about to celebrate marriage to his beloved, the half-elf Arian. But uncanny whispers from the spirits of his ancestors continue to warn of treachery and murder. A finger of suspicion has been pointed toward his grandmother, the queen of the Ladysforest elves, and that suspicion has only intensified with time and the Lady’s inexplicable behavior.

Awesome. You'll Love this
Revisado: 02-24-12
What did you love best about Echoes of Betrayal?
The return of Jennifer Van Dyck as reader was a huge success.
Elizabeth's Dragon is so different then other dragons i am used to reading about and i love it.
The plot is moved along in this story quite well. This is clearly a middle book and while a few threads are wraped up in this tale most are mearly moved along and readed for book 4 and book 5
Who was your favorite character and why?
Dragon. this Dragon has a sense of humor and is clearly not what you expect
Have you listened to any of Jennifer VanDyck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Well
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The last chapter is a killer, can't say more or will spoil
Any additional comments?
Audible needs to have Jennifer Van Dyck do Kings of the North and remove that horrid other readers version quickly

Peace and order have been restored to the kingdoms of Tsaia and Lyonya, thanks to the crowning of two kings: Mikeli of Tsaia and, in Lyonya, Kieri Phelan, a mercenary captain whose royal blood and half-elven heritage are resented by elves and humans alike. On the surface, all is hope and promise. But underneath, trouble is brewing. Mikeli cannot sit safely on his throne as long as remnants of the evil Verrakaien magelords are at large.

Great book, perfect continuation. Very bad Reader
Revisado: 03-29-11
I gave the book five stars because it 100% deserves it. the story is continued seemlessly, and there are parts that nearly had me in tears. Good humor, loss, and wonderfully vivid people are all in this story.
The bad. The change of narrator can be dealt with if the original of last year was not available anymore, however the narrator chosen is extremely poor for this type of work, she does not give multiple voices to the characters. her pronunciation shows she never listened to the original narrators work or for that matter really read the book. she is a distraction and makes me wish i could ask for a refund. i ighly urge audible to redo this book with a diffrent narrator, preferably the original but bring in a woman who can give the charicter a better voice, Miss Moon has 3 more books coming in this series and if they are read by Susan Erricson i WILL NOT be purchasing them

A good expantion on the short story
Revisado: 10-12-10
I don't know how many realize that this book is an expansion of a short story of the same name David wrote a couple years back. solid twist on the end, a mild blending of fantasy and sf, if we get more books in this universe it will have time to unfold as to how the ending sf part works.
this is Middle range weber, not his best work far from his worst. the narrator is middle of the road nothing great but not bad too.
all over i'd call this a solid work. nothing special but solid

Solid, Funny, Enthralling
Revisado: 03-08-10
First john hits a very political note here, with high tongue in cheek fun. Its entirely possible people would be offended. To those people i would point out that this is a fiction story and the political elements are part of what makes the story work. For everyone this story is great fun! with a ton of humor, and alot of good science (disregarding the magic science of the gates)
