Historia
With a knife in his gut, Rowan figured he was destined to become just another corpse littering the slums of Taureen. So he was fairly surprised to wake up in the back of a moving wagon with a couple of adventurers. Turns out that Rowan had been given something most street rats can only dream of—a second chance.

A bland book with an excellent ending
Revisado: 02-28-25
The last 4 hours of this book where exceptional. The rest of it had me so board. I thought many times to just give up on this title but I'm glad I stuck though it.
Unfortunately I can't recommend getting this book unless it's on sale. And I won't be continuing the searies.
To give more details to anyone curious. The book spends much of the time narrating in third person, giving you a list of facts much like a textbook would. It wasn't engaging at all.
The start of the book had a great hook but after that, it went downhill fast. The school life part (which is the majority of the book) was boaring. the only interesting things where the dungeon dives and a bit of school life drama. No spoilers, but it had a great ending. Otherwise it was bad.

Historia
What could be simpler? On my very first day in this world, I was given the title of a count along with all the trimmings: a castle, name, lands and power. You'd think I had it made, but no . . . They seized my castle, took my lands, and now, I'm surrounded by enemies. Moreover, it's nothing but one headache after another with the authorities. And even though I wrested my castle back, the neighbors aren't going anywhere, and they live and breathe to tear off chunks of my land, and eliminate me, the new head of the family.

I won't be continuing this series.
Revisado: 02-07-25
This book had much of the same issues the last one had. It's short and made little progress in the story. Plenty of fun things happened and I did enjoy quite a bit, but it didn't feel complete.
In short, this series hasn't captured enough of my attention. It is simply a low B grade series and I will not be continuing this story.

It's a fairly short prewiew.
Revisado: 02-07-25
The book was good not great. They did a great job introducing the world, the characters and the story. It was short though, and not much was done to push the story. Basicly this was an introduction and nothing more.
I'm unsure if this is what to expect from these books or if this was just a one off. I will be getting the second book and reviewing it. If the second book is the same I will not be continuing the story.

There is no plot, and the story is short. That being said, it's a roller-coaster of a story and is very entertaining.

Plus, even if citizens could enter, it didn’t change the fact that Max’s body is paralyzed from the waist down, confined to a wheelchair. No way would anyone let him enter the tower. Ever.

Strong Harry Potter vibes
Revisado: 03-14-22
As I was listening to this book, all I was thinking was that the characters were very similar to Harry Potter characters. The main protagonist is from a place with no powers until he finds out he has powers. The female supporting character is from a family without power (basicy muggles). The antagonist is a boy who uses his heritage to lord over others and looks down on those born of lower blood (he's basically Malfoy). All of this is in an academy where they learn to use their powers (Hogwarts).
The book was overall pretty good, even if it was a little cheesy. The performer sounds a little neatly, so it gives the characters some unwanted attitude. But otherwise, everything is pretty good, and I do recommend this book.

Great Book
Revisado: 01-10-22
Michael Chatfield made another great book, and Neil Hellgers did a good job taking up where Todd left off. The reason why this isn't a 5 star review is the audio quality. The "S" sounds are very sharp/loud in this book. I tried using 4 different speakers, but it's still pretty bad...
Note: I understand the reason for the voice actor change, though it is a little jarring.

The world has been saved; life is beautiful and everyone loves and appreciates the hero, even though they have put him in some godforsaken place. To keep him safe, or so they say.... But it's too boring there! Only at first glance, however, because entertainment can be found anywhere and the street phase of the world tournament, Battle of the Champions, is just the right thing to pass the time, especially if some divine gifts are taken into consideration, which, regardless of his unique strategic and tactical talent, seriously complicate his life.
