Historia
Buried in the depths of the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Japan, lies one of the greatest drowned secrets of World Wart Two - a crashed B-29 bomber that was carrying a third atomic bomb to Japan in 1945. Its deadly cargo, lost in the sea for nearly 50 years, is at the heart of this classic Dirk Pitt thriller, in which a small group of Japanese nationalist fanatics, dreaming of a new Nipponese Empire, set out to neutralise and blackmail the USA - with nuclear weapons planted strategically in the country's major cities....

Send, "The Delta Forces!"
Revisado: 07-12-20
The Delta Forces? Delta Force? or just “Delta?” Maybe?
Robot dogs? And consecrated robots? What? Consecrated?
The plot in this story is ridiculous. The science is not even believable science fiction. The writing is mediocre. Tons of exposition is given as dialog, like Clive was writing this to be a script.
Gems:
“A new robodog is currently being reprogrammed.” :/
“Sorry I’m late, but I had to take a dog to obedience school.”
This was a truly tiresome experience.

Not much of anything.
Revisado: 07-02-20
This is not much of anything. To give an honest appraisal, it is a very general quick summary of the field written in essay form. Anyone could have written this by doing an internet search over a few hours. Or, they could have just read a page off of Wikipedia and produced about the same thing.

Historia
Esteemed Pennsylvania State University professor Robert C. Shaler continues his in-depth look at all aspects of crime scene investigation in part two of this compelling lecture series. Popularized in the media by highly rated police procedurals, crime scene investigation is an often misunderstood field of endeavor. Here, Professor Shaler breaks down the intricacies of how investigations are conducted in the real world, examining such aspects as bloodstain analysis, shooting scenes, and “forensic bugs”.

Much better than Part I
Revisado: 07-02-20
Part II is much better than the previous part, with much more useful information. The narrator (author) is still something of a rough hand as reading his own words, but a little smoother than in Part I. The wording is still a bit crude in style. And the arrogance is still there in abundance, but so too are basics in CSI information for the new student. This part is worth the time to study. And as a second part to a larger work, it validates reading/listening to Part I.

Not hesitating to confront controversial issues, Plantinga presents the police officer's views on police shootings, racial profiling, and relationships between police and the community.

Disapointing
Revisado: 07-02-20
Useful information in this book is at a minimum. This isn't a manual or information resource. It did prove to be an entertaining collection of police stories until the writer showed himself for what he was. Plantinga makes a great many movie quotes in this book. And then he makes a point to insult the 45th President of the United States and the millions of people who voted for the President. This is, it would appear, further pandering to the Hollywood crowd, possibly in hopes of gaining employment there as a writer. It might have occurred to Plantinga that there is not a people in the history of the Earth will a lower sense of morals and ethics than the Hollywood industry. This eludes him. I returned this book, because I will not facilitate hate, lies, and unAmerican propaganda.

The dead talk - to the right listener. They can tell us all about themselves: where they came from, how they lived, how they died, and, of course, who killed them. Forensic scientists can unlock the mysteries of the past and help serve justice using the messages left by a corpse, a crime scene, or the faintest of human traces.

Interesting.
Revisado: 06-17-20
The title is misleading. This is not a guide or instruction manual of any sort. This is a survey of past criminal cases throughout history, many recent, that describes the general aspects of the crime and how forensic science was used to help solve the crimes. It also does a general survey on crime subjects/areas of concern, adding interesting insights. Overall, this is a good "read." I didn't consider it to be a waste of time. It may have limited use to a student of CSI - but it gives a good general history of the subject. Though the narrator has a heavy Scottish accent, she changes her voice when portraying a quote, and really gives an outstanding performance throughout.

Almost useless. But not completely.
Revisado: 06-17-20
There is a lot of rambling in this lecture. The sum total of useful information could have been boiled down to one hour. A lot of pointless repetition and poor wording is used. The narrator does a horrible job - complete amateur speaker. I do not advise wasting time or money on this product, both could be put to better use.

MASSACRE! DON'T BUY ABRIGED BOOKS!

A thin outline of Colleen McCullough's book.
Revisado: 12-09-19
This audiobook is about 1/8th of the novel. It is an extremely abridged version that completely guts what Colleen McCullough had written. In her novel she gives a fantastically rich depiction of the Roman Republic. This version is a pale skeleton, mostly dialog, almost nothing of description of setting or culture. Very sad and disappointing. David Ogden Stiers does do a very good job with the material, however, very enjoyable to listen to.
