Amazing book. I love Paulo Coelho's ability to propose controversial ideas in such a way that you get to ponder about them, evaluate them, and accept or discard them if you agree or disagree with them. The story is used as a way to bring up these ideas or rather musings as delivered in the book, that will help us on our everyday lives. The biggest learning point for me is that we are all connected and are all looking out for each other, it is such a humbling experience and thought for a so long called atheist.

Really allowed myself to detach from the dramas of everyday life and enter into the world of the now. Had a profound shift on my consciousness and tied well into the teachings of other books like Think & Grow Rich - but from a welcomed different perspective.

The nitty gritty of A New Earth
Revisado: 03-09-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
If there were concepts or doubts you had with A New Earth then The Power Of Now will definitely answer them. However it is a lot more painful to listen to than A New Earth due to the verbose nature of it. It is more like a huge FAQ.

Aladdin Factor rendition sucked
Revisado: 03-09-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Having owned the book of Aladdin Factor (such a touching and amazing book) the audiobook copy of it was abysmal. It was condensed enough to become boring meaningless dribble that was a pain to get through, each concept was only touched on for a tiny bit of time, without ever getting into the depths of the concept enough for it to sink in, just nifty little anecdotes that didn't do anything justice. If you are wanting to listen to Aladdin Factor DO NOT GET THE ABRIDGED COPY.
The Dare to Win side was the complete oposite. Aladdin Factor is a book comprised of anecdotes that drill home a message, whereas Dare to Win is about the authors personal lesson and much more a book along the lines of Think and Grow Rich and the like. That being said, that content of Dare to Win fitted real well into the abridged form and the result was a highly motivating and moving short rendition. Highly worth it.

Hard-hitting and amazing
Revisado: 10-02-12
What made the experience of listening to The Pilgrimage the most enjoyable?
The narrator's voice was spot on for such a book. It really captured the confusion, desperation and "lost" of that Paulo was experiencing throughout the events, and it instantly starts with such emotion which flows through the entire book. Every time you stop to listen to it, bang, you're right back into the world where you know nothing and are questioning everything, purely because of the superb narration.
What other book might you compare The Pilgrimage to and why?
It's like the Alchemist, but head on full on hard hitting lessons - lessons that make you cringe at times, but worth it.
Which scene was your favorite?
All of it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It definitely made me uneasy at times... and laugh a few times.
