So, it has been a few minutes since my last book post and my quest to read 2,020 pages in 2020, but I plan to get back on track! Book 31 of 2020 was “Fierce Free and Full of Fire: The Guide to Being Glorious You” by Jen Hatmaker. This book is/was an Advanced Reader Copy from HarperCollins. What a privilege it has been to be a part of this Launch Team!! This is my THIRD Jen Hatmaker book in 2020 and this book is full of everything to guide you into accepting yourself for who you are and use the gifts you were given to live out your purpose. Accept your flaws, claim your dreams, admit your imperfections, establish boundaries and be brave as YOU live your life the way you were meant to live your life. This book lit my heart on fire and I finished it at just the right time in the midst of this COVID chaos. I encourage you to order a copy on Amazon—because, well, if you are like me, you don’t want to go to the store and be around a million strangers! (Pages 231) #FierceFreeFire #FierceFreeAndFullOfFire

I had the privilege of reading with an Advanced Reader Copy from HarperCollins Leadership Launch Team was “Get Out of Your Own Way” by Dave Hollis AND received my audible version this morning! I stumbled or tripped into the world of personal growth in the fall of 2018 by reading a facebook post from a friend that recommended “Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis. Since then, I have been on a daily journey to leap off the hamster wheel, practice daily health and wellness to feel better about myself and establish a path of growth in everything that I do. Fast forward to the present and Rachel’s husband is about to release a book (March 10, 2020) that shares his own limiting beliefs and story on his journey of personal growth. I have followed HollisCo for over a year and attended their women’s conference, Rise in Minneapolis which was a memorable weekend. While I have heard bits and pieces of Dave’s story, it was fantastic to be able to read the stories and gain greater understanding of his “why” on his journey. The book offers suggestions on how to tackle your own issues and applies to men and women. Rachel resonated with me, but so does Dave in a different way. “Get Out of Your Own Way” will challenge you to think about your own journey, but it is up to you to do the work. Let’s GO! #getoutofyourownway #gooyow #harpercollinsambassador

I had no idea what this audible was about other than another opportunity to listen to Mel Robbins. Wow! I enjoyed listening during my morning run while on vacation. I had many moments that I made me internally reflect. Looking forward to returning home to download the workbook and get busy with my own life.

While listening to Girl, Stop Apologizing, I found so many stories to be relatable. The audible was funny, upbeat, raw and authentic. Rachel shares personal stories from her life full of success and failures. As a listener, I felt my own memories surfacing and I was able to process decisions that altered my own path and destination.

This book challenges the listener to take the next steps in self growth. It provided me the opportunity to listen, absorb, reflect, process and begin recording my own personal story in a journal. While I believe that not every part of this book will resonate with every listener, I do believe that every listener can find areas of value that can be applied to their own lives.

Rachel offers tangible pieces of advice that worked for her. It is a book of inspiration that challenges the listener to take their own steps for personal growth to develop habits and behaviors that lead toward a better version of themselves. It is a great book to listen to in order to kick off individual journeys for a better you.

I just happened to see this book recommended on a friend's FB page. I was ready for my next Audible selection, and voila, there it was popping up on my feed. HOLY SMOKES! I had no idea that so many things were about to change in my life with this one recommendation! I am forever changed! I have listened to it several times including listening, absorbing, processing and journaling. I am thankful that Rachel Hollis put her thoughts on paper and shared. Thank you from another mother of four (15, 13, 11, 9) AND a wife to a man who is jointly listening to Rise Together. Oh, The Places We Are Going with all of the greatness unfolding in our family.
