Narration is so good!

Love Zoey’s books but these may be my favorite yet. I’m a long time audible listener. It’s been a while since I’ve heard narration like this- it’s 🔥 and the next book in the series might even be better. Love this series.

The delicious a'ani chief of security has been a steady, protective, delicious presence ever since she joined the crew. He's made it clear that he loves Ruthie as she is, nervous wreck and all. But Ruthie's afraid of what will happen to their easy friendship if she asks for more.

Narration was tough for me

I am a Ruby Dixon fan girl, I consume everything she writes and wait anxiously for the next. BUT I struggled with listening to this one. I think if I read it, it would have been better. The male doing a female voice and vice versa with some audiobooks is ok, I had a hard time with finishing it in audio form. Maybe too because Ruthie is not a character I enjoyed much? I’d suggest reading this one if voices are a point of emphasis for you.

He left me in the woods. So, I start walking to town, only I end up at the river, where I meet Axel. This guy is huge. With a storm rolling in, I don’t have much choice but to trust him and take shelter in his cabin, since I’ve been walking for hours away from town. Several days of rain wash out the road and it looks like I’m stuck here with my giant.

I had high hopes from the FB post I saw

I'm not saying this book is not good, I just learned it's not my style at all. If you're a stickler for details and depth, this is not for you. If you're looking for a quick book about a tiny girl and a big guy meeting my chance in the woods and being soul mates with nearly every male/female cliche you can think of, listen away. I also felt like the narration was very detached, like AI was reading it but it says the narrators names so that's not the case. Again, its just not my style, so for some it may be amazing. I got about half way through and decided to move on. Good idea for the story line, not my favorite execution.

Quickly becoming my favorite author

Last summer I started listening to JTG books, starting with Hooked. I’ve consumed many since. This and the last (Perfect Strangers) have dug their claws in and I’m so so impressed by the story telling. And Troy’s voice.

I didn’t love the narration

It’s hard to rate the story for me, I found myself distracted by the voice that could be someone’s sweet grandpa, it just didn’t fit. I may pick up where I left off and finish sometime, but my I treat weaned by the halfway mark.
