I’ve always enjoyed watching Katy Tur’s newscasts so I was looking forward to reading her book. I enjoyed the first half of the book when Katy was coming to terms with her father’s sex change. If she could have stopped there, it would have been a better book. The last half of the book dealt mostly with Katy’s pregnancy and the birth of her son. It could easily be summed up by saying the pregnancy was “icky” (my word, not hers), and the baby seemed to be more of an inconvenience and a detriment to her career. She disappointed me.

Prince Harry

What is it like to be a British royal? Reading this book is a look behind the scenes. Harry describes his life in detail. The book is loooong, but it is interesting and manageable due to being divided into short chapters. The death of Diana greatly affected Harry’s life, and he blamed the constant tabloid attention to which she was subjected. The book described Harry’s own experiences with the tabloids and it was clear that his own life was greatly impacted by them. I found it interesting to learn about Harry’s military service since I can’t remember that we received much information at the time, except that he was a helicopter pilot. If you enjoy biographical books, you will find this one interesting.

Something in the Heir

This story was great fun, The characters were well developed by the author, and the narrator performed them well. I especially enjoyed the portrayal of little Rose.
