Recording is muffled, narrator is mediocre. Hopefully a new version comes out soon. Jonathan Keeble is way better.

We enjoyed Keeble like we have never enjoyed Charmical and are looking forward hopefully to a second volume of Wimsey mysteries

It was a lovely afternoon rest read. My four year old was ready to read it over again when we finished.

C. S. Lewis hardly needs to be extolled The Discarded Image is excellent and you should read it), but I would like to hear this narrator read a work by Chaucer because his accent for the Chaucer quotes is great.

A note for first time readers: skip to the chapter entitled “The Heavens.” That’s where the meat is at. The first few chapters will reward a second read, but they’re hard for the first reading.

This is like being with your dad on game day or following an old restauranteur around a wine cellar. He is there to share his great love and admiration for Chesterton.

Ethan Nicole also gives just enough help to keep you engaged and understanding without sending you off on a wild goose chase. He moderates the distraction of the target reader well.

This is the perfect starting place.

As for Chesterton, any judgement of him say more about me than him. I’m going to finish Orthodoxy now.
