Fabulous narrator
Revisado: 11-14-18
The narrator of this book makes it come alive. His inflections for the different characters are clearly defined and he’s able to do women’s and girls’ voices convincingly. The story itself is a fun mystery, though not everything is tied up well. Interesting to read a British aithor depict an American family’s response to post-war England.

Historia
Ruthless and supremely powerful, the Great Library is now a presence in every major city, governing the flow of knowledge to the masses. Alchemy allows the library to deliver the content of the greatest works of history instantly - but the personal ownership of books is expressly forbidden. Jess Brightwell believes in the value of the library, but the majority of his knowledge comes from illegal books obtained by his family, who are involved in the thriving black market.

Puh-tolemy?
Revisado: 12-21-17
Story was mostly engaging and the narrator gave a good performance. However, his pronunciation of Ptolemy was cringe-making.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

This classic deserves better

excellent reading of a classic sci-fi novel
Revisado: 01-22-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Dune to be better than the print version?
No, probbaly the pring version is the best of all because you imagine the characters' voices. and nothing beats your own imagination. Nevertheless I very much enjoyed the recorded version.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
The narrator{s) did a fine job of keeping the voicex of the chracters clearly delinieated, and moving the narrative forward. This is a long book, yet it never seemed to bog down. Plus I liked all the voices in this recording once I got used to the difference between the recording and how I imagined the voices would be.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Oh god, they did make a film of it - avoid avoid avoid it at all costs!
