Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Raw, abrasive and hilarious
Revisado: 04-10-24
This is one of the most compelling and hilarious books I’ve ever heard. Tim Kennedy does an amazing job of sharing his journey in a matter of fact, raw and often hilarious manner. There were times when I was bending over in stitches with laughter. I don’t think reading this book book would do as much merit as hearing Tim‘s own voice relating the stories. He does a tremendous job.

Historia
There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences. Journalist James Nestor travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The answers aren’t found in pulmonology labs, as we might expect, but in the muddy digs of ancient burial sites, secret Soviet facilities, New Jersey choir schools, and the smoggy streets of São Paulo. Nestor tracks down men and women exploring the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices.

Historia
Widely regarded by fans and pundits alike as one of the greatest players of all time in the sport, over a 27-year career, Hendry went on to win the World Championship seven times and was snooker's world number one for eight consecutive seasons between 1990 and 1998. Hendry retired in 2012 with a record-breaking seven World Champion titles under his belt, a record that remains to this day.

Raw, honest and entertaining for Snooker buffs
Revisado: 03-14-24
Hendry does a great job of opening up about his life and lays it all out for the world to judge. He was a fierce competitor on the snooker table; probably the fiercest in the history of the sport. But this one-pointed focus to win at all costs, had a damaging impact on his personal life that he now regrets. You get to hear from one of the greatest on what it requires to be at the top of the game, at least, that is what he thought back when he was competing. I loved this book and Hendry does a great job narrating it.

Historia
In 1986, Paul Newman and his closest friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern, began an extraordinary project. Stuart was to compile an oral history, to have Newman’s family and friends and those who worked closely with him, talk about the actor’s life. And then Newman would work with Stewart and give his side of the story. The only stipulation was that anyone who spoke on the record had to be completely honest. The result is The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man—revelatory and introspective, personal and analytical, loving and tender in places, always complex and profound.

A lot of navel gazing, and yet….

Very entertaining read
Revisado: 03-14-24
The narrator does a tremendous job of capturing the mood of Paul Newman. I often thought it was Paul, himself, narrating the stories. The book offers a great insight into the life of Hollywood royalty. One thing is for sure though, Newman was not your typical Hollywood star. He was not fake, but as real as a red-blooded American male can be. However, aside from the raw bravado and daring that characterized his life, his acting life, revealed a softer side of Newman's that led him to becoming one of the greatest modern-day philanthropists. He certainly had an extraordinary life!

Historia
World snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan's first-volume autobiography Ronnie was a major best seller, acclaimed for its candour and insight into the life of a top sports star. In his second book, Ronnie reflects on how much of his life has been running away or running towards (often inadvisable) things.

Brilliant
Revisado: 07-17-22
This book was so entertaining and so well-read by the narrator. I couldn’t put the book down, I was hanging on every word. I look forward to Ronnie’s next book. Ronnie is an enigma on and off the table. He is the GOAT when it comes to snooker and although his career was chaotic at times, he worked things out in the end and found that to be the greatest just required not being so hard on yourself and enjoying life. It was this realization and example that impacted Hendry the most.
