Historia
At the age of 56, Rob A. Gentile had a massive heart attack followed by a profound near-death experience. On his journey to his heart transplant, he was close to death again and entered the Ethereal a second time. He found himself inside a shapeless, formless vacuum of unending and infinite vastness. He was everywhere at once, scattered across a timeless expanse, and connected to the wisdom of the universe - all of it without words. He saw and simultaneously became part of a gigantic interactive web of twinkling lights covering the Earth and stretching into infinity.

I can't recommend this....
Revisado: 02-05-24
I love listening to Near Death Experiences as they bring me to a realm I am very familiar with and comfortable in. This story heavily focusses on the life and experiences outside of the NDE and there are a lot of dark forces and dark energies woven through it. Listening to it can get really confusing and some narrative choices have been made for dramatic effect that are worsening this. If you enjoy these type of books for their uplifting vibrations, this is not for you. Moreover the "lessons" the writer seems to include feel extremely constrictive and not liberating at all. Reading the description of the book is not like the book itself.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Unfinished logic and lack of depth
Revisado: 01-19-20
After reading other works by Malcolm Gladwell, I had high expectations. The fact that time and effort was put into spicing the audio up with real and enacted voices of characters was really great. Unfortunately the lack of good reasoning and research was so shocking that I am going to return this title after 30%....... I am especially shocked by the lack of sense when insinuating that the rape by Brock Turner might have been a misunderstanding in consent. That somehow, the level of intoxication of all involved, matters. The girl was unconscious. The boy was caught in the act. The fact that she had to go to court and defend her level of alcohol, behaviour or whatever else is a blemish on rights for women everywhere. Other readers say Gladwell did something similar to the Sandra Bland story later on in the book. He starts out with that story and he seems to insinuate that the race argument is not as compelling. But I don't know what happens later on because I don't want to read any further....Sadly, because knowing more about how we can understand each other better would be great. He just didn't do the work to convince me he knows.

Good story, great chemistry
Revisado: 07-11-18
The capacity to describe and write great chemistry is the absolute number 1 criterium for me to like a romance book or author. Williamson has this down. On top of that there is an actual good story line with interesting characters and suspense. I am looking forward to reading more from her!
Read if you: like a slow build up, are interested in multi layered characters, like diversity in every sense
Don't read if you: are looking for sex from the first page, have something against cops or doctors
The narrator never irritated me which is already a great feat. After listening to books read by Victoria Vincent it is very difficult to get more than 3 stars from me in performance. If I had happened on this book before that I would have probably given 4. Since 5 is the maximum, that number is now reserved for Ms Vincent.

Knight in shining armour story
Revisado: 12-27-17
Good if you like damsel in distress in a modern, gay and funny version. I laughed out loud and the dialogue and sex scenes are convincing even if the story is predictable.
This is not for you if you are not into butch characters or if you are not looking for a well done but straightforward love story.

Tolle at his best
Revisado: 02-08-13
This is a very helpful guide for people in the service business that have come to a level of awakening. How to bring this new awareness into your work and life. Tolle brings his presence into this workshop in a remarkable way and guides you into being more present yourself while listening to his teachings. The audio quality is absolutely acceptable and one can hear him clearly. If you are looking for a helping hand to infuse your work and life with a level of awareness of the highest standard, this is it!

entertaining, practical and insightful
What was one of the most memorable moments of Knowing Your Value?
the mix of personal story with scientific research and interviews gives a very full picture
What does Coleen Marlo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She has a lovely voice that is very relaxing and pleasant to listen to
Any additional comments?
In the beginning it starts up a little slowly going over stuff we already know all to well and a lot of personal detail. In the second half and towards the end of the book you receive various practical pointers and useful insights for your personal situation.
