It feels like wading through glue! Haven’t finished it; I can’t face it any longer. Read the first book and found it interesting. I had never heard of Kentucky Blue People. Don’t like this one at all!

A rich review of how to solve a murder.

The characters are real, human and easy to know, if not particularly like.
Love the story telling aspect. Great voice. Not the run of the mill crime story.

Fascinating-Today’s History
Revisado: 07-08-24
A very in-depth coverage of what the author describes as our longest war. The war on drugs, and the extreme wealth it has created along with savage destruction of those involved.
The layers of its structure, the pay offs, the, oh so, young age of its soldiers the bravery of some and extreme violence of it all overwhelm. Just as you direbelieve you understand, Mr. Winslow changes course until you have fallen in line with the rhythm.

Historia
It is 1995, and Anvar Faris is a restless, rebellious, and sharp-tongued boy doing his best to grow up in Karachi, Pakistan. As fundamentalism takes root within the social order and the zealots next door attempt to make Islam great again, his family decides, not quite unanimously, to start life over in California. Ironically, Anvar's deeply devout mother and his model-Muslim brother adjust easily to life in America, while his fun-loving father can't find anyone he relates to. For his part, Anvar fully commits to being a bad Muslim.

Character flaws that seemed too much like a soap opera! The failure to see what would result. They lived in the same building-well, most did.

Historia
The nice guy next door was hiding a dark secret - a homicidal obsession with young girls. It didn't end until his final victim, still bound in handcuffs, escaped while he slept. She recounted the details of a night of horror spent with an elusive serial killer. Neither family nor friends saw Richard Marc Evonitz's dark side - he saved that for his victims - until his double life came undone by a courageous, resourceful 15-year-old. The authorities had questions about many unsolved cold cases, but Evonitz had one more shocking surprise in store for everyone. Into the Water is a cautionary tale about the vulnerability of our children.

Could have been great
Revisado: 12-11-23
A good story was ruined by far too much of the author! Unnecessarily wordy. The author seemed to get lost in her descriptive explanations, when just the facts of the story would have kept the reader on track.

Multiple Readers Get A Poor Grade

I thought the accents giving to each character distracting at the very least and quite dreadful. For the most part. One reader is enough!

In his final hours in the Oval Office, the outgoing President grants a controversial last-minute pardon to Joel Backman, a notorious Washington power broker who has spent the last six years hidden away in a federal prison. What no one knows is that the President issues the pardon only after receiving enormous pressure from the CIA. It seems Backman, in his power broker heyday, may have obtained secrets that compromise the world’s most sophisticated satellite surveillance system.

That Trip I can No Longer Take
Revisado: 07-14-23
A review claimed the book was slow in places. That is an American attitude described by the author-hurry, what comes next? I absorbed the descriptions and remembered the places I have visited. My desire to return is strong. My own pace, preferably and not chased. A fun read and probably more likely than Mr. Grissom claims.
